Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff make their return to WCW where they begin a new storyline; The New Blood. Bischoff and Russo want to push out WCW's millionaires such as Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Sting and DDP while pushing guys like Vampiro, Kidman, Booker T and Scott Steiner, and the New Blood group will serve as the heels in this new rivalry while the old-timers are portrayed as good guys. It's a brand new era for WCW and it begins on this episode of Nitro. On Raw The Rock makes it clear he still wants to become WWF Champion. Vince McMahon agrees to give Rock an opportunity, however he must win a main event Steel Cage match tonight in order to get another shot at Triple H. Rock isn't told who his opponent is (or how many opponents he has).
