On death row, serial killer Aileen Wuonos (Peyton List) tells her story from her point of view, even the stuff that happened when she wasn't there and had no way of knowing. Her version starts on July 4, 1976 and her tale does not jive with the known facts which she claims were faked by the media to spin a story. Her life as a gold digger was short lived. I liked Peyton List in that role. However knowing that the story was not exactly truthful made me feel like I was watching an Oliver Stone film without Oliver stone. Guide: F-word. Sex. Brief male butt nudity.
If you want to watch a movie about Aileen - watch Monster and her real life interviews etc. Don't bother with this - I have no idea why this whole thing didn't end up on the cutting room floor.
Whoever did the makeup on the older Wuornos should be up for an Oscar, the film itself was absolutely dire. I have never been so happy for a film to end and put me out of my misery.
That's it, I'm done with Netflix. As their prices go up the quality which was already low has gotten even worse. How dare they show crap like this to subscribers and charge a monthly premium. I'm done. Netflix really does suck.
I'm really shocked that Toby was in this, his acting is so much better than this low budget crap. Idk why they keep making movies about these killers, and most don't end up accurate. The chick who played Aileen was god awful. Don't watch it!
A very much better version has been done. "Monster" with Charlize Theron way better , I think she won an Oscar for her performance. This is some D movie dressed up version of what really happened. Save your money for more pop corn elsewhere.
Really enjoyed it. Spent a good hour afterwords googling Aileen. Peyton is terrific. Wasn't dragged out and filled with nonsense. A very dark and spooky take, inspired by true events.
Absolutely great acting at the beginning by penny wise's sister and then it all went downhill from there. Its like a really really bad poison ivy and for anyone who hasn't seen poison ivy it's not good yet it's Oscar material compared to this.
Good movie!
