Needless to say that I had never heard about this 2023 movie titled "Alien Apocalypse" prior to sitting down and watching it. And with it being a movie from The Asylum, I have to say that I wasn't exactly harboring the biggest of expectations to writer Jeffery Anderson and director Adrian Avila. But I still opted to watch the movie, on the off-chance that the movie would prove entertaining. Yeah, The Asylum does spew forth the occasional good movie. Writer Jeffery Anderson put together a script that felt rather pointless. It was a simplistic script, but there just wasn't sufficient contents to the narrative to make it a particularly believable storyline. And the movie was a quite a bland viewing experience. I am sure that some diehard sci-fi buff could get a small kick out of watching "Alien Apocalypse". But me, as a casual viewer, well I was not impressed with this movie. There were a couple of familiar faces on the cast list, that being Michael Paré, Paul Logan and Patrick Labyorteaux. I will say that the acting performances in the movie were actually not bad. There was a lovely "Star Wars" reference in the movie, with the "TK-421" being the code for regulation. Visually then this movie wasn't all bad. The Asylum has far more questionable special effects movies to their resume. I will say that the effects in "Alien Apocalypse" were fair. Nothing outstanding or memorable, but fair enough actually. My rating of director Adrian Avila's 2023 movie "Alien Apocalypse" lands on a very generous three out of ten stars.

This time they clone "Alien Romulus" and do a terrible job of it. It's a wonder they don't get sued for copyright infringement. I like Michael Pare' from the old days when he did the Philadelphia experiment and streets of fire, these were great movies, seems he's gone way down the tubes to do this. Oh well. If you have time to waste and don't care about plot, story or acting, this may work for you, otherwise spend a few more bucks and see Alien Romulus in 3D. You won't be disappointed. If you want to know how to avoid these rip off movies, just scroll down and look for the word "Asylum" and you'll know it's a bonafide clone.

This movie was a blast - on a green trip. Don't expect a thriller. I felt like I was watching a decades old film. Reminiscent of Star Trek, with ideas and "equipment " that was downright cheesy. Entire movie was quality of yesteryear. Plot was corny, props were cheap, sound affects were amusing, dialog was sophomoric. Acting was so-so. Sorry.... Thumbs down, except for a few laughs. Some lines between "scientists" were like WTH - these are scientists? Dish should have paid ME $7 to watch. Maybe was meant to be a spoof. That would work. Don't expect to be scared - just think funny, ha ha. Save your $7.

I agree this is presented in a throwback style, if you call throwback meaning to setup many scenes you have to start with a good dose of stupid and let the actors react with more stupid (like some of the old sitcoms). Yeah, I didn't think they were entertaining back then and I still don't. A few minutes or rewriting could have made SUCH a difference. I guess drama 101 classes have been forgetting to teach the basic 'suspension of disbelief' concept, because there is no way the writer and director made it to the 102 class, unless they decided to sleep through it. Sad too because a few of the actors showed promise, but its tough to see that when you recoiling in horror at the script/scenes, instead of the movie.
