The horses earned the two stars, the rest of the cast looked freaky. Morgan Fairchild looked too odd to realistically play a poor rancher. The actor (and I use the term loosely) who played the girls father, just couldn't act. The two girls could at least act but put in this super low budget film were left in a nightmare. This was so low budget and poor, it shouldn't have seen the light of day!
Not sure who in the world is rating this more than a few stars because it is one of the worst movies I've seen in a while. Ironically the last bad one was "FIrst Lady" which had the same male lead. The acting is so bad it's painful to watch. The script is almost laughably bad if it weren't for all the sermonizing in between the robotic dialog Its also about 3X longer than it should be (although the scenery is pleasant), This movie hits the stinker trifecta: bad acting, bad writing, bad direction.
I have always loved movies like this because they are 'about good things'. Full of life lessons to be better people. Relaxing, feel good family movie.
A movie has to be pretty bad for me to rate it this low. Corbin Bernsen was the only one who could act professionally. Most of the other actors were painful to watch - especially the girls' father and mother. The movie had some humorous moments in the beginning as the diva sisters experienced culture shock in the country but it was downhill from there. The preachiness was predictable and nauseating. And Morgan Fairchild's makeup for a country woman was so unrealistic. Please- no country woman dresses like that everyday. I should have read the reviews before wasting almost two hours. I hope my review saves that time.
When I started watching this film I thought I was going to stop watching it after five minutes. The two teenaged daughters were such brats, and I didn't like the way they talked to their mother, but for one reason or another, I watched on. There were some formulaic stuff, yes, and the "ranch" had financial trouble because the "friend" who helped them had big $$ in his eyes, and didn't care if the "ranch" helped a lot of people heal while forming relationships with the abandoned horses. #HorsesAndAutism I had two siblings with the Fragile X Syndrome and both of them were autistic savants(an oxymoron, I know). Both of them loved horses(they also loved food, art, swimming etc.). Horses made them happy, and they were able to ride them. Fiona, one of the teenagers who worked in the ranch, taught a little girl with autism in this movie, and I liked how patient she was with her. #QuestionsUnanswered Maybe I missed it, but it's not clear to me if the parents are divorced, or if the mom is just too busy, and the dad just needs to be alone to write a book. #WonderfulGrandparents MORGAN FAIRCHILD and CORBIN BERNSEN play the bratty teenagers' grandparents. For me, they are the life of the movie, and because of them, I watched the whole movie. What do I think about the movie? The ending was kind of "expected" and the theme is kind of overused, but as a whole I liked it a lot...and yes, the HORSES are a big factor too.
Wonderful script. Superior acting. Excellent scenery and directing. Principal characters progress from twits to charmers. Such range of acting skills! A lot to be learned about values. This film gives confidence and insight into hope-sources. Great for individuals and families. Going to share this one.
Horse girls make me snooze but my mother loves watching these day time movies so i thought why not. the only thing that interested me was, intentionally or not, one of the sisters and that animal therapist girl had some Serious chemistry...
Good movie!
