Barbie and her sisters in a great puppy adventure had a cute storyline with likable characters and cute puppies! After, another Barbie Puppy movie came out, (Even though I watched Puppy Chase before Puppy Adventure, it still makes me angry) this movies "Moral" practically says: "Don't practice, if you practice, you're destined to fail." So, Chelsea needs to practice for a competition but then they lose their puppies so they have to find them, that's it, right? RIGHT? Nope, Barbie is incredibly stupid, Chelsea is stupid, for listening to Barbie. The plot is, no. My favorite character is literally the weird poodle, the other characters are, eh. The climax of the puppies being trapped in the car, wouldn't have happened if like, Marco and the other one weren't dumb enough to not call Barbie or like Skipper. Anyways, this movie is just terrible. Please go and watch Barbie and her sisters in a great puppy adventure, and not this one, please.
It was a cutsey Barbie movie. I particularly liked the horses and Archibald. The sisters were ok, although Barbie was irresponsible and the embodiment of toxic positivity at some points of the movie. The ending though disappointed me greatly. Chelsea arrived too late at the contest (it was due to Barbie's incompetence but still), the puppies manipulated the host (who had already picked the winner, Lindsay, who danced perfectly) to let her compete, she was doing a lousy job and falling yet they didn't stop her, instead every animal and her sisters pulled on the stage and danced along (pretty sure that was against rules as well), and Chelsea, the little protagonist, eventually snatched the price from the other girl, Lindsay, who had won fair and square, and without using all those effects Chelsea did . What was even the message of the movie? Puppy-eye your way through everything?
I wasn't that excited with this film, I mean, it was a cute one, but not anything crazy. 8/10!
I'm definitely not the target audience for a Barbie movie, but I can enjoy them. And I am aware that these movies usually aren't made with a big budget, and they're usually just made to sell toys. What I'm trying to say is that for these movies, the bar is pretty low. The plot of this is frustrating. I found myself wondering "how much longer is this movie?" more than once. The puppy subplot is boring. For a movie about chasing after puppies, the pups don't move around very much. It's mostly just Barbie failing to go where she needs to. Barbie would've been fine had she made better decisions. The stakes are really low- everyone hardly faces consequences. The characters are boring. Even Barbie and her sisters are bland. Two of the Barbie sisters had so little impact on the plot that they could've been removed without any consequences. The puppies are badly voice-acted. They sound robotic. Ultimately, this is not a great movie. Probably fine for the kids.
