While I am not overly a big fan of Western movies in general, I do sit down every now and again to watch one or two. And as I hadn't heard about this 2023 Western from writer and director Christopher Sheffield, as I happened to stumble upon it by random chance, I opted to give the movie a view, as I found the cover interesting. I didn't know what I was in for, as I hadn't heard about it, nor seen any trailer or read anything about it. So writer and director Christopher Sheffield had every opportunity to entertain and bedazzle me with "Bite the Dust". The script for "Bite the Dust", as written by Christopher Sheffield, was pretty straightforward, and left very little room for surprises or twists to the plot and storyline. It made for a watchable enough Western movie, albeit a rather generic one at that. It is a rather slow paced narrative, which makes it a somewhat prolonged experience sitting through the movie, as it doesn't have much excitement going on. Now, I wasn't familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list in "Bite the Dust", but they performed quite well and brought their characters to life on the screen in an enjoyable manner. And the character gallery in the movie was actually fair enough. The music score in the movie was rather unfitting for a Western movie, and that sort of killed the mood and the atmosphere that director Christopher Sheffield was trying to establish and set up throughout the course of the movie. The music was just simply too modern and electronic to be suitable for a Western movie. Watchable, for sure, but "Bite the Dust" was hardly a memorable or outstanding Western movie. But I am sure that die hard Western fans will find more enjoyment in the movie than I did as a casual viewer. My rating of "Bite the Dust" lands on a four out of ten stars.
Sorry, but clearly friends of the producer or actors (if you can call them that) have placed the 10-star reviews on this movie. Save yourself wasting an hour and a half of your life. This movie is is poorly filmed, poorly acted and in general a waste of oxygen. Normally I don't take the time to mark-down a movie, but for the sake of saving other people from wasting their time and having to endure this; I am spending the time to write a review. Sorry if the producer and actors feel this is a harsh review, but honestly how did it ever get released other than someone was desperate to recoup their investment; a bad investment either way.

How in the world can this movie rate a 7.9 is beyond me. No name actors and actresses with terrible delivery. Is this a western or a comedy? Either way it falls short. I really tried to give it a chance but tapped out at the half way point. You get the feeling everybody is over acting causing choppy transitioning. I will say the storyline is very good and that is what attracted me at first. Can someone explain to me how movies like this rate so high. If this movie would have been free, I would not have lasted as long as I did. A rating of 4 would have been more appropriate. At least people might not have such a high expectation.
This movie is absolutely captivating and full of emotions. The story is gripping and the actors give amazing performances. The visuals are breathtaking and the music adds to the overall experience. The director did an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged, with moments of suspense and moments of deep thinking. The scenery and sets are beautiful and make you feel like you're part of the movie. The music helps to create a strong emotional connection with the characters. The movie explores important themes about life, love, and what it means to be human. It's a truly amazing film that will stay with you long after you've watched it.
Acting and feel of the movie gave the impression it was filmed in a small theatre stage, with the music taken from Tom and Jerry or Scooby Doo at times. I normally wouldn't write a review without seeing the full film, but I just couldn't get to the end of this one. Clearly low budget, and hats off to those doing clothing and sets, but the rest was pretty aweful. Poor acting, more wooden than the town set. Got the feeling at times the writers were juggling with a serious western or a comedy western and ending falling somewhere in between in no man's land. Clearly the high raters may have a connection with the film somewhere.
What a delightful surprise this movie was! I wasn't sure what to expect as I knew almost nothing about the story, but was immediately taken into the adventure and had a blast with these characters. First of all the writing is top notch and had some of the best dialogue and characterization that I have seen in any movie of the last couple years, let alone a western. Snappy and funny, it never forgets its genre and perfectly toed the line of light-hearted humor and western action/adventure with stakes. The acting also deserves mention because every character was well acted and had depth. Some were hilarious (Zeke) and our heroes were so likable and real, it was so refreshing to have a western hero that you care so much about and want to see win the day. They had such great chemistry and I want to see more adventures of our bounty hunters. The fight scenes were another surprise because they were entertaining as hell and well choreographed and stunted, far superior to any of the westerns I have seen lately. And off beat things happening during the fights. Just a hell of a lot of fun! Very well done and just watch it because you will be taken in. It has the spirit of great westerns of the past with a unique touch that I haven't seen and can't quite put my finger on. It all works and I'm glad I took a chance on this one. Will watch repeatedly.
