Good movie!
source: Bodysnatch
I love low budget movies. Usually because the premise is good but the budget can't match the ambition, and occasionally the creatively shines through and you find a gem. This is not that. They barely attempt to maintain a plot. My guess is most of the writing was improv. And the things they say we're cringe as hell. For a "scifi" movie they barely hint at an alien invasion and when they do they might as well be wearing lizard masks because they are just mindless zombies killing or turning people almost instantly. The beauty of a body snatch movie is that regular people could be monsters. There is doubt and subtext. Somehow the main cast was even more unlikeable than the monster and just not funny. It's not just not funny the humor is kinda gross and by the end I was rooting for the aliens just to put me out of my misery.
This movie leans on character development and humor for that good grade B movie flavor. It isn't that scary and the budget was obviously small but it raised some issues about friendship and loyalty. There was one glaring plot hole. What has happened to all the cell phones.?The pods and the theme of never sleeping are replaced, probably due to budget restraints. This is hardly a classic on the scale of the first two, but it does draw you in and passes the time pleasantly. I hope the people involved get more work.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life. Poor characterization, worthless ending, throw away idea, extremely confusing muddied movie...Awful acting.
The cast was Good, Acting also good however the story line was not that impressive
This one's not bad but it's not great either. I found it to be lackluster in the thrill department. It just didn't hold my attention like a horror movie should. Redeeming aspects are the decent acting, and most of all the cinematography was solid. It's a decent enough flick, but it pales in comparison to the original film as well as the remake and other spin-offs that have used the same formula.
Only reason I continued to watch this, is because I live in indianapolis born and raised so kinda caught my eye seeing the streets in the movies that I ride past on occasion l
This is a sci-fi comedy that takes place in the "no crime" Indianapolis. Three twenty-somethings do a ride along with Officer Marcus Wilder (Christopher Wilburn) who has a great sense of humor and makes his own rules. It isn't long before the threesome is accused of killing the officer and are on the run from regenerating people controlled by aliens. The film starts off as if it was going to be something like "They Live" but didn't quite go there. At one point when they had the film, I thought they were going to visit "Dr. Phil" a Vlogger who spouts conspiracy theories. I think that would have been a better choice with Clint Howard being the guy behind the mask. The film had some decent comedy moments. I also like the fact Sarah Davenport has a Denise Richards look. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
This sci fi thriller was ok and had a decent cast but could have used a lot more bodysnatchers.still worth a look at.
