Good movie!
source: Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons
Right, well I sat down to watch this 2020 DC animated movie without knowing whom the Deathstroke character is, aside from being familiar with his name. So I didn't really know what to expect from director Sung Jin Ahn or writer J.M.DeMatteis. I can't really say that I was overly impressed with "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons". Sure it was watchable, but it wasn't outstanding or memorable as some of the other DC animated movies available. So I suppose this one was aimed specifically at the fans. Something that I did like about "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons", though, was the art style used in the animated movie. It was very much reminiscent of the 1980s cartoons that I grew up watching, such as "G.I. Joe" for example. And the animation was very smooth and good. These two factors were definitely working well in favor of the movie. However, the storyline was just a bit too bland and mundane for my liking. There wasn't really anything that just popped out of the story and demanded attention. And the characters were a bit too trivial for my taste. It should be said, though, that the voice acting was good, and they definitely had hired some talented performers to participate in this project. And Michael Chiklis definitely was a great choice, given his gruff voice. All in all, "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons" turned out to be mediocre for me. It didn't really appeal to my liking. That means that I am settling my rating of this 2020 DC animated movie on a mediocre five out of ten stars.
It is not bad It is unspectacular enough for an in-depth story about Deathstroke, but there are a few moments when you get bored in the middle of the movie. The animation is very well done as the design of Deathstroke, to compare it with some other Deathstroke in live action, it is at the level of the Titans series and Batman: Arkham Origina (my favorite designs of the character in live action and in a videogame) The roles that Jericho and Rose Wilson take here are pretty decent, and the relationship between these two is well carried by the relationship they both have with their father. Adeline Wilson (Jericho's mother) is undoubtedly the worst character in the film, if she was also a military man and even after leaving Slade and Jericho's disappearance she should understand in a certain way what her husband was going through being someone who only knows war, and at least he had to ask him for an explanation of why and what he was doing, since both in the first act of the movie and when Slade left his wife and son he had already disintegrated much of HIVE, a corporation of evil, and helped with an antihero doing good even if he had to kill someone In short, Adeline is a woman who just wants to get away without knowing if it is good bad or if it is something fantastic as the definitive cure for cancer 7.6 / 10
The animation style is probably the best aspect of this 'series'. So is it 12 episodes or a film? Both were released this year, same name with different release dates. Leave it to WB to be disorganized and to just shove content out there. So in other confusing aspects of this, Jericho has a different power set than ever seen before and is a quasi villain again? He's blond and blue-eyed like the comics, but played by an Asian trans man in the live action show last year. I imagine being a DC fan today is confusing with such drastic changes to the same characters across the books, shows and films. Adeline is portrayed pretty well, except for her 'late 90's cartoon Rogue' hairstyle later in the episode. It's also weird to introduce Rose, but no Grant and well before Terra. Wilson is a thinner black man now. That's new to me. Anyways if you can get past the violence, gore and character changes; then you may enjoy this.
DC Best of the Best animations, enjoy!) Great sound and Great script, great leisurely narration and tons of action! How we love))
I have watched all the DC animated films and this one definitely did not disappoint! Bloody, violent, action!
It was just full of suspense. You just want to know what happens next. Amazing work from Dc
