Megan park for me is the steal here. she stole every scene she was in and had great chemistry with the co actor whitmer Thomas. some scenes fell short of the overall emotional tone but they were few and far in between to affect the movie as a whole. Also the pacing was great, it didn't feel like it dragged on or was to short, it was perfect.
A great story with great characters, it is smart, funny and ridiculous. the idea to marry someone else was just genius and pushed the plot to greater heights. director Tyler Spindel did a great job bring all the cast together, this is definitely a win.
Fantastic Movie. Though it started slow, it proved to be worth every second. I watched it yesterday and I know this one I would re-watch again. Great plot and structure, though i am not really familiar with some of the actors, they are decent enough and brought life to the movie.
We really enjoyed this movie, the main cast play great of each other, and it occurs naturally. the story is the winner here, its such a heartfelt and funny story with some really crazy twists. Its a good movie overall.
This feels like it wants to be "Due Date" or some other Zach Galifianakis gross out comedy. There is a cast here that could maybe pull that off, but the script SUCKS! The premise is quite stupid. This kind of absurdist comedy needs an absurdist set up...and a marriage for a green card is just NOT THAT. It is just too too unbelievable that the lead couple would set up a marriage to such an ogre. 80-90% of the attempted jokes are lame, lame, lame. The fake reviews on here make me angry. That Hollywood or where ever makes such a terrible movie with such a BAD BAD script, while using up so much talent, makes me mad. Oh, and, a large man very deliberately slaps a woman twice, very hard, once to the ground, for laughs and sucker punches a guy out, also for laughs. It's disgusting. The end credit roll include a few outtakes where the cast laughs at some of their mistakes. That's more humor by a lot than the entire movie. There are some really fine cast members here...given NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING to work with. Avoid. P.S. The movie makes decent use of one very fine asset, Gregg Sulkin's body. BUT, he is hosed with water in one scene and the huge amount of body makeup on him starts to run...and no one cares. Just left in. No comments. No jokes. Just a jacked gorgeous young man with obvious fake tan body makeup running down his torso. The rest of the productions values are okay...but this slop is a great indication of the unevenness and sloppiness of the whole film.
A simple idea for a rom com that works so well with the characters. If you are yet to watch it I won't give any spoilers but the movie is a great time. it's absolutely good fun. it's kind of different in a good way.
Deported is an original rom-com that works as an adventure and comedy in a brilliant way. It looks like a film that Zach Galifianakis would star in but Michael Gooch shines in that comedic role as well. The film as a whole does a good job telling the story of two lovers facing challenges. But some of the supporting roles didn't push the story forward. Regardless it's a great watch.
It was very well done with good acting and a natural storyline that held together.
