The adventure film Gold Dust, starring David Wall, David Wysocki, Derek Severson, etc., directed by an unlisted director, was released on April 7, 2020 in the United States. It tells the story of Somewhere along the border with Mexico, two lifelong friends - prospectors - use moth eaten maps and passed down legends in a lifelong search to find a ghost ship rumored to have been buried in the desert sand over millennia as the seafloor dried up. Today, Mexican drug lords operate here, using a fleet of children in ultra light airplanes, flying in a new type of treasure - heroin - modern gold dust. These two friends must decide between pursuing their dreams of treasure, suddenly so close, and what they know is right. To save themselves, or risk their lives to save a young girl captive to the drug lord. GOLD DUST is a wild adventure of treasure and ghosts, mirages and orphans, shattered dreams and lost loves. It blends the stark deadly beauty of the desert with a villain so disarmingly dangerous he becomes terrifyingly elegant. Classical music. Thundering opera. Rattlesnakes and precious gems. Mansions and gold mines. Friendship and despair. Hope. Death. And Love. Treasure beyond imagination always vanishes in the desert wind. This is an Adventure, Comedy film with a runtime of 100 minutes and its worldwide box office is not listed in the available detail data. It has received a rating of 3.7/10 from 329 viewers.

Good movie!
Gold Dust is filled with quirky characters and a very unique plot line. I love how music was such a key ingredient even to the point of using it as a weapon. ;) The plot, the cinematography, the characters were all delightful and colorful. Our family really enjoyed it! Gold Dust is a treasure!
So there's prospectors, lost money, drug-lords, rogue desert kids, villains, and opera? I must say I was surprised at everything that is packed into this film, but found it to be utterly enjoyable. Keep an open mind, and I'm sure you'll find that this movie takes you on quite an adventure, while also delivering a lot of comic relief. I found myself watching scenes that I couldn't help but just laugh my a** off. The two main characters Fink and Moses are the hilarious duo who really drive this film with their great performances and their contrary character personalities. I think this is the light-hearted type of movie that we need right now. I'm always on the lookout for clever indie films that can offer some relief from the monotonous repeats of Hollywood, and Gold Dust definitely delivered. The music I absolutely loved, acting was on point, and the cinematography was gorgeous. Hilarious, fun, and able to be enjoyed with the whole family, I must recommend Gold Dust to you. It's definitely a refreshing new film.
GOLD DUST is a very silly, ultra-low-budget movie where the writer, director, and one of the two main characters are all the same person: David Wall. One of the more interesting characteristics of David Wall is that he looks very much like Robert Redford's somewhat younger, middle-aged brother. Unsurprisingly, he styles his hair very carefully like Redford's to encourage the effect. Also interestingly, about half the cast all have "Wall" as their last name. So GOLD DUST is clearly a family affair. "Hey! Let's all make a movie and we can be all the actors!" Although everything is fairly amateurish, most of the primary characters are actually pretty good actors and there's nothing about the production values that screams "made for a dollar". About the only really badly designed and acted character is the hitman who just gets tiresome nearly instantly. One of the tells for the budget, but which contributes positively to the movie, is the almost exclusive use of well-known classical music for the sound track. "In the Hall of the Mountain King", as an example, makes great background music for a fight scene, no doubt about it. And CHEAP royalty for quality music, too. So, carefully keeping in mind the origins and realities of this movie, it's not half bad. Personally, I really liked it. If you can be a little forgiving, I'd encourage you to watch it. But do keep in mind that my rating of 9/10 is more a function of my relativistic rating system than some kind of statement that it competes with RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK or something. Given the circumstances, it was exactly the movie it tried to be and is pretty much as good a movie as it COULD have been given the circumstances. In other words, it's a really GREAT movie for the type of movie that it is. Keep that in mind. The only real downside is the vast number of fake reviews here on Internet Movie Db. But of course, that's mostly Internet Movie Db's fault and isn't really a knock against the movie. It just clearly underscores what a miserable website Internet Movie Db is and how badly curated and how much the operators of the site don't give a... Well, YOU know.
The movie keeps you on your feet, never really knowing what's about to happen. The light comedy makes it worth your while. Give it a watch!
What incredible fun! For the whole family too! My kids liked it even more than I did! An awesome looney tunes ride! Fink and Moses are so likeable - definitely right up there with my other favorite buddy pictures. When's the sequel?? Man this one has it all! Adventure, comedy, gorgeous locations, hilarious characters and what an awesone soundtrack. They even managed to get one of my favorite cage the elephant tunes in there! A must see for sure! This is going to become one of my family's go to feel good movies!
Do yourself a favour and watch it. Defiantly worth giving it a go.
I found Gold Dust by happenstance while floating aimlessly through a numbing infinitum of entertainment/sitting on my couch waiting for normalcy and balance to return to our currently chaotic world. Much like the film's isolated, gold-hungry protagonists, Fink and Moses, I feel I've discovered an elusive treasure hiding in a vast and empty desert. Truly a lot to unpack here for anyone passionate about indie film or, hell, anyone willing (and good-natured enough) to buckle in for a quirky comedy and outlandish adventure fueled ride but I'll spare an enthusiastic soliloquy here because the less you know about this film before its compelling opening credits roll, the better! Suffice it to say, the mix of unabashed zaniness/acute directorial style and captivatingly sincere creative vision in this film brings something delightfully distracting to the screens of American audiences in a time when we all could truly use a mad-cap, Hijinx infested universe. Enjoy! Rod Thurman-Howle
The combination of dry humor and excellent production made this film a great movie to watch with your family. The plot is simple, and is executed well. Great film.
Not a hunt for Lost Ship of Mojave Desert - story lifted from English author Philip Pullman's, Angels and Daemons, proving that Hollywood loves plagiarism, despite Pullman's novels being more realistic in the depiction of death etc. The "Bad"-mafia-hitman, with passion for Classic-music very reminiscent of Marshall in "Good, Bad & Ugly". At least that gave us a smattering of Saint-Saens, Bach, Mozart and Puccini in the desert. Two beard-boys stars, 5 IQ points higher than "Dumber and Dumber" duo were extremely lovable fellows. Pity then, they had to be in a movie like this.
