Where do I begin? The premise of the story had so much hope. One could almost overlook the two hideous wigs on the two lead characters. One could overlook the thin storyline. One could overlook, possibly, that tremendous amount of overacting. One however could not overlook all of the above. One character spends most of the movie with facial contortions of either anguish or distress and then they're crying then they're shouting then they're screaming and crying. The other one spends more time just throwing f-bombs and then doing her facial contortions and a lot of overacting. In the end even the supporting characters were so weak. Save yourself the hassle of watching this and just find something else.
The plot of this film is not bad. Its about two half sisters (one of which was abused by her grandma) visiting their childhood farmhouse two scatter the ashes of their grandma ad collect their inheritance which is hidden in the house somewhere. Two armed masked psychos are planning to find it first. It seems it would be like somewhat decent home invasion film butit gets so dumb with turns it takes. The dumbest thing to me is that when the sisters are in danger and cant call the police, all one has to do is take off her ankle security bracelet. However she wont do that because she would be a real criminal then. So shes going to risk her and her sisters life to not be a criminal. This is just so stupid.
The amount of bad, laughable acting makes you wonder if this movie is actually genuine or intentionally the worst movie of 2023. The bad blonde wig that plays the main role is by far questionable, why not hire a real blonde actress who might of carried this role better? Sydney Winbush acting was not half bad if given a better role and more money I'm sure she would exceed. The plot and twist never happen, so I would definitely would not waste one's time looking for a good movie to watch Sunday evening before returning to work Monday. I do think, if high, overly high this might have worked because the amount of times I laughed at the acting and scenes sure made me want to.
This movie could have had an interesting premise but it had too many silly things that take one out of the movie and a truly disappointing ending. For one, while I understand that biracial people do come in all shades and appearances, the biracial sister didn't "look" biracial in movie visual shorthand so I spent half the movie trying to figure out where kshe came from or waiting for her backstory. And don't act like you don't know what "biracial" looks like according to media. Second why did the blonde sister change into a psycho at the end for no reason and start killing everyone? Three what lesson was the grandma trying to teach through her abusive parenting? I think in her own way maybe she was trying to teach the biracial sister that she'll have to work twice as hard on life to get the same reward from the system but with no exposition the audience doesn't know. Lastly, that ending... Why did the biracial sister go confront the other sister that was known to be psycho by that part of the movie and throw the inheritance in the water? And why did they both have to die? And what was supposed to be the moral of the story with their bodies found holding hands? So many whys and not in a satisfying mysterious way but in a "I really just wasted my time" way. Also there was waaay too much profanity in my opinion.
Good movie!
