A great outing for Billy. Shazam finally gets to lead a movie, however we still have to suffer with seeing the likes of batman. It's more of a justice league movie than of Captain Marvel movie. It's of Shazam being insecure of his true identity amoungst the JL. Shazam and JL reunite to take on a Caterpillar and Black Adam It was such an engaging film from start to finish. Last words: I don't like batman.

I'll be honest up front. I could only get through 20 minutes of this - right around the point where the villain was revealed. It doesn't come anywhere close to the original Lego Movie or the Batman Lego movie (or heck, even Lego Movie 2 or Lego Ninjago). There was one amusing joke, but the rest of the humour was just lame. The writing was a bunch of cliches and cheesy dialogue. I don't see how anyone over 12 years old could enjoy it. I really liked the live action Shazam film and The Return of Black Adam animated short, but this was too much to sit through. If there's one positive it's that the animation was really well done.

This film start with Shazam take down a robbery gang, and he mess up The Penguin trading jewelry scene! As turnout, this film is about Shazam need to save the Justice League from Mr. Mind and his Monster Society gang, after the Justice League turn into kid, and manipulate by Mr. Mind! Shazam eventually prove him worthy to join the Justice League! Entire film full of explosion, and things broken scene! Make the film quite watchable! Laughable scene! Such as, Batman give Superman a tissue with Justice League logo on it to wipe his tears! The Wizard want to hit a moth but he hits himself instead! Shazam keep hitting Oom's butt! At the end, Black Adam defeat Mr. Mind! Shazam defeat Black Adam and turn the Justice League back to their adult self! Shazam visiting his uncle and sister, thanks to Batman! Still have a post credit scene! Mr. Mind bump into a guy searching for Zalvaxian warlord! That's it! A recommended animation film!

A new origin story for the hero Shazam, that delivers in lots of ways, but still doesn't reach the heights of the theatrically released lego movies or the live action film. The story is pretty great and it's definitely worth a watch, the humour is a little lacking but not totally gone. Overall this is a decent lego DC film, but it lacks the teeth of some of the other DC animated or lego movies, a great watch for the family though.

The Lego DC Universe has a new superhero, Shazam. After he helps the Justice League at the Metropolis Farmers' Market, the group invites him, however, he refuses, as he his afraid to show his true identity due to being a kid and they will reject him for it. However, after the League falls for a trap laid by Mister Mind, leader of the Monster Society of Evil, and regressed to kids so he can easily mind control them, Batman manages to escape, and now, he and Shazam must trust each other to save the others, as they are brainwashed to bring Mister Mind food. This is a good DTV film. The film is basically a lesson in trust, as Shazam has to learn to trust other with his secret, despite his fear of how the other heroes would react to him being a kid. Also, the story is good, the voice acting is great, and the action and humor are done greatly. I recommend this one for younger superhero fans or fans of Lego in general.

LEGO DC Shazam!: Magic and Monsters (2020) is a movie I recently watched on HBOMAX. The storyline follows Shazam when he is surprisingly asked to join the Justice League. He is hesitant at first because he's never had to reveal his identity or work within a team dynamic, but when Black Adam and the Monsters Society appear, they capture the Justice League and Shazam and Batman are their final hope. Can Shazam let his guard down and save the Justice League? This movie is directed by Matt Peters (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War) and contains the voices of Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), Imari Williams (Demon Slayer), Troy Baker (Batman vs Robin), Grey Griffin (Transformers) and Jennifer Hale (Blood of Artemis). The depiction of the kids at the orphanage are so good as are the settings, especially the Wizard's cave. The extended DC universe is awesome as was the interactions between characters. The idea of turning all DC characters into kids was great and funny. The script in this is pretty solid and the animation is excellent. Black Adam was awesome and there's some good messages in here about trust and teamwork. Overall this was a pretty well written and executed film I'd score a solid 7-7.5/10. I'd recommend seeing this once.

Here's a question. Why did we not get an animated Shazam movie sooner? This is definitely a movie that honors the character.

"The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them."- Shazam 9/10 The humor and the Shazam character is the highlight of LEGO DC: Shazam - Magic & Monsters (2020). Loved the feel good tone and silly humor. Recommended if you are looking for some light-hearted comedy film. Shazam is invited by the Justice League to join their team but he is reluctant to reveal his true identity to them. In the meantime Monster Society traps Justice League. And it is up to Batman and Shazam to stop the evil Monster Society and save the day. The animation was good. It maintains the same quality as the other DC Lego Animated Movies. The effects were great. I liked the character designs as well. I did however found the Background music to be a bit annoying. I really liked the film. I liked the humor. It was a fun way to spend 80mins. The plot was simple and the characters were likable. I loved the segment where Batman and Shazam teams up. If you liked The Lego Batman Movie (2017) or Scoob! (2020) give this a go.
