action packed movie feed with a lot of fun

This movie is just a hell of a fight with a female action star. This one for me is a breakthrough for us Filipinos who love to watch action thrill movies, this is what I am looking for. I've never seen this kind of choreography in the past pinoy movies, and this brings closer to a Hollywood like action film, although not very close to The Raid and John Wick series, but it has very good camera angles and no shaking, good fight scenes and well prepared actors better action than the Bourne Series, and thanks to Sonny Sison for making this action almost realistic; i just hate the blood effects though, i think it's too much, but I love this film since it is pinoy made. All I can say is that this is a very good action movie for a filipino like me who's longing for this kind of an action film in the Pinoy movie industry (most pinoy movies nowadays are more on drama and comedy side and some action movies are bad.) although it has a lot of downsides and a lot of scenes that I don't like or unnecessary like the torture scenes that is wasting too time and never has given benefits to us viewers and make us think what are those for? But overall I rate it 8/10 compared to other FILIPINO action films. The plot of this movie is common, a lot of plot like this in the Hollywood films and are a lot more better story, but this one's not that bad at all, it's just lacking something in the end, maybe there's a part two or something. I'm hoping if they will make a part two on this, they need to make sure that the acting are more precise and realistic, because i saw some lousy acting and some fight scenes are not quite intense and are predictable, that's one part they need to improve, or they need a stunt double on Cristene Reyes at some point to make it more fast paced action to give us an "awe" and "wow", because she's not that really good on the fight scenes, and also the acting were quite lacking, but I gave her a positive credit on that, I know it's not an easy job, she still nailed it even some are not perfect. Kudos to you Miss Cristene Reyes, for me you're better than Anne Curtis in fight scenes. And to end this review please watch the movie, I know you'll still like it.
I am still not certain what the plot was. I do know that the actor playing Kaleb is a horrible actor.
MARIA is the latest THE RAID/JOHN WICK-inspired martial arts movie from the Philippines, following the enjoyable BUY BUST. This one's lower budgeted but manages to be generally watchable, despite predictable plotting and some less-than-impressive technical aspects. The story is about a female assassin who puts her old life behind her, only for it to soon catch up in a nihilistic way. The acting is adequate and the main actress both beautiful and athletic in her plentiful fight sequences. As for the action, it's generally quick and vicious, with acceptable choreography and a high body count. While overall MARIA is something of a forgettable movie, at least it's never boring.
This is by far the best Filipino action movie I've watched in 2019 so far. It is even more better than Anne Curtis' Buy Bust movie. Good job to the director, Pedring Lopez.
I have little expectation with this movie. But I was surprised while watching "Maria" on Netflix. Reminds me of "Columbiana"., Gritty, thriller and surprisingly good.
There zero originality when it comes to plot and character development in Maria (2019) the latest Filipino action movie but not any new action movie need to be the next John Wick so for me to rate how good an action movie nowadays it all boiled down to how awesome the action scene is and how convincing the actor while doing it and I'm very satisfied with what I got in Maria. After the chaotic action set pieces that I dig it unlike other people the clean action scenes in Maria may look pale in comparison but it definitely more suitable for the Western so I hope Maria find its audience when it hit Netflix. If you like Maria then check out Furie (2019) another bad-ass action movie with female lead for a good double feature action night
Cool action scenes for a Filipino movie, no cliché and scenes are unpredictable. Very refreshing to watch! I pray that this movie will be shown globally since Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (Filipino Martial Arts) is featured in the movie. Let the whole world know that we have our own martial arts!
