The artwork made it look like a good movie and I like the actors. The opening was in question but I thought I would give it a chance. After minutes of credits on a black background I gave up. Didn't make it to the movie itself. Horrible waste of time. I had no idea how many minutes these credits would go one and on but I do know that as a potential viewer it lost me. When I watch something I want to get to the story. The credits that were played in the front of the film should have been played after the film. I wonder how many other viewers that they lost because of this. I Don't blame anyone but myself for wasting my time.

This has to be a joke! There is no way it't not. The bad acting, poor film skill, and terrible writing make this movie almost impossible to watch. About 1/4th of this movie is credits. Another 1/4th is drone shots. It is speculated that the budge to make this movie was $35, and the purpose was to cause pain with the, poor CGI, wide angle and awkward scenes. I give this a 2/10 because there is a difference between bad being incompetent, and bad on purpose. And this just barely scrapes over the line. The best part: The Ape Burlesque dance. The best line: "No monkey business" - Sir Ranger Rodger.
This was one of the most difficult things I've ever watched right from all the credits at the beginning of the movie like they used to do in the '80s and the soundtrack which was obviously from the 80s and the footage of the Apes looks like it was some after school special on National Geographic in the mid-1980s who pays to fund something as terrible as this it's crazy I can make a better movie with my phone. Tom. Sizemore and Bai Ling are respected actors I don't know how the hell they ended up in this whoever greenlit this project and financed it should be fired from the industry all together this was so bad.
One of the greatest cinematographic masterpieces ever created, the sexual tension between the two researchers was immense, and when they fought eachover after speaking fluent ape, I shed a tear, the intense feelings I felt from this scene caused me to sling one up my wife straight after. Bai ling is the greatest actor in the film putting the rest to shame, the cgi in this film must also be praised as it is incomparable. Dorothy's figure also gave me feeling that I have never felt before and that I would like to feel again. I wont be watching any * or charismatic theatre because this movie did enough for me, thank you and good night my fellow dinosaur enthusiast.
This 'film' - it is, when titles, and filler shots are taken out, less than an hour long - is completely wretched. The acting is dreadful, the effects would be considered unacceptable 20 years ago, the cinematography is risible. There is not one redeeming feature to this film - even the cover is wrong, with the 'ape' being a chimp, rather than the advertised gorilla. Bizarre that films this terrible can be released whilst $90m budget films are canned in post production as tax write offs. It makes even Asylum productions look like masterpieces. Save yourself an hour of your life - I have suffered through this crap so you won't have to. 1/10 purely because zero isn't an option on IMDb.
A team of animal rights activists unknowingly releases a genetically engineered ape from a top secret research facility. The simian soon grows to enormous.....even Mega sized, and embarks on a rampage of total destruction in Hollywood...... Well what do you expect? Mega Ape is lots of fun, but it's all for the wrong reasons. It features Tom Sizemore, who is in it for all of five minutes, and to be honest, I don't even think he knew that he was in the film. He gets out of a car, hides in the most blatantly obvious place, and then he buys it. Then we are left with Bai Ling, and the man with the easiest job of the film, and with a face faker than the titular beast Mel Novak Ling spends her time in the film stressing out about nothing, and Novak spends his time in the film sitting down, pretending to talk to someone on the phone. And he has an amazing face. The rest of the film features really really bad actors screaming at the sky and hilariously getting bit in half by Mega Ape. And then it ends. It's mercilessly short, and the opening credits are so long, because they knew there wasn't a lot of the film. It's rubbish, but I urge you to see it, because it's a wonderous **** show. I can't wait for the sequel, and I hope Mel Novak returns with his beautiful face.
"Mega Ape" (2023) is a movie like no other that will leave you scratching your head, wondering why this movie was ever made in the first place. Director Dark Infinity (aka Dustin Ferguson from Amityville in the Hood) makes yet another iconic 'masterpiece' with terrible CGI, editing, sound, acting - the list is endless. There's some underacting from performers like Tom Sizemore (RIP) and Mel Novak, whereas there's some over the top acting by Bai Ling and Erik Russo. If you love iconic bad movies then this is for you. However if you're easily insulted by bad moviemaking then I would walk away from this. Story doesn't have much to offer neither.
