This is a fresh air into the rotting Tamil cinema which is spoilt by hero worshipping the good for nothing heroes and aging actors who do anything and everything to sustain in this mindless industry. This is a slick, neat, absorbing , intelligent piece of work with the right cast. The grip is maintained throughout the movie. Basker and Vela Ramamurthy are perfect and fit the roles. Vela Ramamurthy looks and acts viciousness personified. Basker is living the character. The hero is smart and trim. He has done his part well. Karuppiah's diction is good but lacks modulation which is not a great flaw. The suspense is maintained beautifully and fits the title very well. I appreciate the director for his contribution in trying to elevate the taste of the Tamil audience. We need well executed simple crisp movies like this not beaten boring magnum opuses with stupid actors without brains.
A very simple crime thriller which has all elements to be a blockbuster but suffered only beacuse of no star actors and lack of professional acting from the lead hero and important characters linked with the murders.. The director had the right story and screenplay will definitely give a run for it's money with it's logical twists and turns generating leads of suspects in a proper chain. The ending was also logical apt for the title of the movie but this was also a major skid in the screenplay showing the ameaturish of the director which can be ignored appreciating the efforts he has taken to keep the suspense and holding the audience till the end.. The acting of some actors who are veterans was good but director should have definitely roped in someone like SJ SURYAH who would have definitely made this movie a super hit given the story and screenplay... Nevertheless definitely worth a watch giving a satisfactory crime thriller movie for a crime story lover like me...
Story starts from frame 1 and worthy crime investigation thriller... Yes the plot directly starts with the man missing case registered at the police station and immediately the investigation starts. The plot moves like connecting the brief given and the list of characters are introduced and we do keep guessing what happened. To keep us more engaged there occurs the 2nd case and simultaneous investigation makes us not to move away from the screen. There are very few boring scenes like song of the victim family and love interest. Apart from that there are no nuicance scenes like intro song, punch dialogue or comedy portions to slow the pace. The movie ends with good twist and worth watching...
I usually don't spend time in writing reviews, but doing it right after watching this movie. This is not blockbuster movie, but very well made with all realistic sequence of scenes. The whole police department worked like champs to crack the thriller, that's something we cant realistically expect these days. Worth watching it for sure! How is this movie even having a 8 and above rating??? The acting was mediocre. Even the veteran actors seemed bored to be in this film. Fights were like a typical masala tamil film. The lead actors entry was cliched. So were the antagonists with their act. The hero was passable. Songs could have been definitely avoided. Many supporting actors and actresses were hamming away to glory. Especially the "mother" of the dead girl victim. The story was good, Suspense was welcome. But nothing extra ordinary. There are MUCH BETTER Tamil and Malayalam movies which deserve a 8 and above rating. But not this movie. Overall this movie deserves nothing more than a 6 out of 10.
The film is a investigative thriller, all the actors and technicians have done a commendable job. The story starts with a missing person's complaint from a wife at a police station and picks up speed and all the characters create suspicion and the interval helps to relax and get ready for a even faster second half with a unexpected climax with a powerful message. Thaman Kumar leads the story exceptionally with supporting characters from Vela Ramamoorthy, Pazha Karuppaiah, M. S. Bhasker, Sriranjani, Deepa Shankar, Arun Karthi and others who fit the characters perfectly and have done absolute justice with the roles. Technicians have done a wonderful job, starting with Manivarman's script, direction, Gurusuriya's editing, K. G. Ratheesh's cinematography and Sanjay Manickam's music. Overall credit goes to producers Dhananjayan, Alagar Gurusway and Ratheesh for helping in production, marketing and distribution of this well made entertaining and gripping film.
