This movie was everything I wanted and more. The animation was stunning with some truly beautiful shots. As a life long tmnt fan I think this honored the franchise and was one of the best tmnt pieces I've ever seen. It stayed true to the tv show while having some incredible character development. If you are tmnt fan or even just want to watch a cool movie I highly recommend. If you want peoples true feelings read the audience reviews and not the critics since they have been hating on rise since day one. Hopefully this will compel them to make another season of rise!
Annoying old clowns who can't seem to let go of their racism, hate and nostalgia goggles. People like them are the bane of existence. Don't deserve a platform to spread their nonsense. For example: They hate April simply because she is black. That's it. I mean come on. They want to go back to the 80s and 2000s...really? Those incarnations have passed. Move on. Get a grip and keep up with the times. Or jump in a deep hole, that works too. Anyway, now for the real review. Starting things off with the animation. FLAWLESS! There is no denying how beautifully done this was. Polished and colorful. The love these brothers share is exactly what needed to be seen! They are honest in their feelings and learn to work together as a whole to defeat their enemies. Their insecurities are exploited, doubt runs rampant and yet they hope. Which is ultimately the movie's message. Also wanted to add, April honestly steals a lot of the show as well with her amazing skills and critical thinking. She's an actual asset to the team and can keep up with the best of them! She is the best version of April! The brothers love her and it shows a lot both in the series and the movie. The movie deserves so much praise in my opinion but it is those vile cowards who love to spread hate just can't get over the fact people enjoyed it.
I love this movie. It had me on the verge of tears in the emotional scenes and absolutely cracking up when the comedic scenes happen. The animation was amazing as usual, and the way they progressed the story was amazing. They use so many elements that make this movie for every kind of person to enjoy. I can't tell you how many times I've replayed a scene because I loved it so much! The only thing is that I wish it had been longer! A thing I noticed was that almost all the turtles except Leo didn't say Casey's name. Mikey said it once, but only referencing to him. The reason this stands out to me is because I would have loved more development between Casey and the turtles. Leo and Casey developed a closer bond, but I wasn't so sure about the others. Casey clearly cares about the turtles, and I wanted to see why. Another thing was that there were many questions unasked and unanswered. Now that the Krang have been introduced, why is there a Krang skeleton in the Hidden City? How did it get there? And the turtles didn't question once how to get their mystic powers back. There could have also been development for Donnie and Mikey as well. Yes, this movie focuses on Leo's path specifically, but this battle was big for everyone. Everyone should have grown at least in some way, not just Leo and Raph. And speaking of Leo and Raph, I feel like their conflict could have been more. There wasn't any mention of how leadership changed in the team. If only the movie were longer, it could have answered all these questions, further developed relationships, and more! Of course, I'm aware some of these things couldn't be helped. One can only wish. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this movie.
This movie destroyed my life and it's so amazing. It's genuinely not bad and all of you hating have absolutely no taste and can't enjoy fun. It was heartbreaking, it was bittersweet, it was fun, it was growing up, it was character development - it had everything a good movie needs. The development is the best part of this movie.
