interesting
I found this psychological drama to be confusing - who was who - the sister, the younger sister, the baby is being called a sister, who was the side kick guy, etc. Even the explanations at the end seemed to be so confusing to me that I fell asleep twice on the last ending episode and had to start it over. I still gave it a 7 for the beginning parts which were a little more intriguing and interesting as the storyline is being established and revenge all started but then the female lead got to be too dislikable. I liked that it is only 7 short episodes so you can finish it on one evening. Japanese Drama that had a little romance in the beginning.
Japanese Drama " Risky " has a well-crafted dark atmosphere. The drama starts quite intriguing, with a to-the-point cinematography, a gloomy feel to every shot, and some marvelous camera angles that add to the thriller. The performances suited the story perfectly as well, and gave a twisted note to the events. The beginning, actually, is pretty exciting, with lots of suspense, as the plot is slowly being unfolded and the characters are being introduced. However, the drama slowly loses its might, as the ending falls flat and the whole story doesn't manage to give a good perspective of the characters. The twists were messy too. So, overall, six out of ten.
RISKY (2021) was a short dark Japanese drama that slowly became more of an more intriguing series as it progressed. While not a super fast paced series, it certainly had it's moments of suspense and offered a good few twists along the way. The drama was well acted and framed and the story line itself was rather compelling, keeping the viewer on the edge until the ending. The cinematography itself was good as well, adding to the overall atmosphere and vibe of the thriller genre. I felt a bit let down with the ending myself, however it certainly wasn't the worst. I just felt it could have been much better. While the acting was all very good and believable, the main female lead grew to be a bit unlikeable, and it was a bit hard to root for her in the end. Otherwise, this was an intriguing series. Great to try if looking for a short Japanese suspense drama. It's only 7 episodes long. Worth a try.
