Chris Stokes changes up his normal relationship drama in this, a film where Robbin (Serayah) has succeeded in getting out of her old neighborhood, going to a good school and moving on up to the kind of job she can be proud of at a bank. Yet when she's accused of stealing money, she learns that the people who had her back when she was young -- and who she left behind -- were more trustworthy than the businesspeople she worked for. She assembles a team that includes the pregnant Camilla (Leli Hernandez), Trina (Gavin Turek), Q (Jadah Blue) and Shawna (Erica Pinkett), who took over as the leader of the gang after Robbin went legit. They all have their own problems, too. Shawna is about to be evicted and if she gets busted one more time, even their friend on the police force Kelli (Robinne Lee) won't be able to keep her out of prison. For as smart as Robbin is supposed to be, she plans a maskless and gloveless heist, which seems to be a recipe for going back to jail. That said, she doesn't, so maybe she really is as smart as this movie claims that she is. This is very much like a less depressing -- and well-made -- Set It Off. But hey, Stokes will be back next month with something new and I will -- as always -- give him another chance.
I deeply regret wasting nearly two hours of my time on this film. The entire experience was disappointing, feeling more like a poorly executed college project than a professional movie. The acting was incredibly amateurish, and the production quality was subpar, resembling something that might have been put together by beginners or even a group of students. The storyline was weak and uninspired, lacking the depth or creativity necessary to hold an audience's attention. The overall execution was so lacking that it was frustrating to watch, offering no real entertainment value. I would strongly advise against watching this movie. It's simply not worth your time, and you're better off choosing something else to watch.
Wow. I was hesitant to watch this movie because of the reviews but I am glad that I did. I thought this movie was pretty good. Seraya was good as well as the other actors. What really sold me was the fact that this film was inspired by "Set it Off" and that was one of my favorite films. In all honesty, there were a few plot holes and the writing was stagnant at times but overall I was impressed. I am sure that the filmmakers didn't have the large studio budget like set if off but I think they did a great job with what they had. I think if there were a few tweaks that this film could have gotten a more main stream distributor.

I have just finished watching "Robbin" this new movie on the Tubi channel and for free. Thank God I didn't pay to pay see it because I would have wanted my money back. The story is lame. A woman bank employee is set up by her boss at the Bank where she had worked for many years, is accused of embezzlement. She is sent to prison. After her release she concocts a plan to rob the Bank with her childhood friends with whom she used to commit armed robberies of gas stations and local supermarkets. These women are from Hood and they manage to pull off several successful Bank heists. A female detective gets on the crew's tail and is about to catch them, but t hey get away in what I call miraculous circumstances. In the end, the boss is arrested and also sent to prison for embezzlement. The crew from Hood manages to steal a boat load of money. End of Story.
I didn't get full enjoyment of the movie. It feels like the actors are reading their lines for the first time at moments and without the feeling/emotion they are trying to express to the audience. The main catalyst to the plot is brushed over in the first 10-15 minutes of the movie. You don't really get to buy into the entire arc or get behind the heroine in the story. Characters get a cursory introduction and then *bang* into the next part of the story. Bottom line, parts of the movie are predictable, but it's not terrible. It's an OK watch for a get your revenge/redemption of the protagonist movie.
