Good movie!
The Director completely lost track of the timing and the temp, its as if he fell asleep during the shoot!!! there is absolutely no suspense, no drama, no sense of danger or otherwise, its almost a collection of vignettes that is no connected well, the director should never be allowed in front of a camera!! the story seemed kinda interesting but the result is boring, inert and absurd... Please DONT watch this movie
This is quite a dull and confusing mess of a movie. Characters are introduced in one scene and aren't brought back for several scenes later. A lot of different characters with different back stories but most of which don't fully add up in the end. There are some scenes of interest but a lot of the film feels amateurish. What's even worse is the lack of names used by the characters and by the end of the movie, could not remember a single character's name. The ending is okay and may catch off guard in a way but in general Running with the devil isn't worth the time.
Not a fan. Thought maybe they wanted to educate their audience about the drug trade and the life styles of those who deal in that trade. And maybe that was their goal. I did not like this movie. Like Queen of the South style much better.
Some bad dope ends up killing the sister of a federal agent, which starts a whole investigation to track the dope's source. Meanwhile, The Cook and The Executioner is after who the hell is cutting the dope supply short during it's travel until delivery. Running with the Devil may seem kinda convoluted at first. It took me some minutes to realise what was going on for real. There's not much action scenes, but I like the tone of the movie. Everyone is Alpha and must not be trusted. There are no heroes. Acting is fine, although sub-par sometimes. I don't like The Agent in Charge, she's weak and her persona is dismissable. Overall, good Sunday movie.
A movie with Nic Cage and Laurance Fishburne should have been more crazy than that but it wasn't bad, the movie was good enough to keep me watching and it got better at the end and it's far better than other cage movies like 211 or A SCORE TO SETTLE but not as good as Mom And Dad or Mandy
I cannot believe the negative reviews. The way the cocaine travels from a to b was amazing. I like the way the price kept going up as it reaches its destination. Tons of unexpected moments....I recommend Highly.
Nicholas Cage is back ! It's about time Hollywood let Cage back in. This movie is Cage like Pulp Fiction was to Travolta. Running with the Devil gives its audience a taste of how complex illicit drug supply chain management is. One thing which this movie focused on, of which others have failed to do is emphasize quality control and continuity. Hence the reason why Fentanyl is claiming so many lives. Running with the Devil has a suttle intensity, mixed with just the right dose of action. Thank god no CGI is present, just good ole' fashion good acting, cinematography, and color. The only thing this movie is missing was 35mm panavision, unfortunately the days of "motion picture" is no longer. Really looking forward to Cage's next production, come on Hollywood let him back in he's proved himself. Get him a personal trainer, give him a weave, and he'll be back as a top top box office earner in under 60 Seconds !
I was thinking -- throughout the entire film -- why not just have the US Army, re-purposed from their useless careers in Afghanistan, and just 'get' everyone involved in this drug trade nonsense and prosecute them ... fully? Well, Leslie Bibb did that in nearly the last scene. She did all she & her agency could do, yet the drugs just kept on coming. What's a girl to do? Check out the movie and find out what she did; don't leave before the film ends! Her character is a real sweetheart -- in more ways than one!
Now I never bought or sold drugs, but if I did I would probably have the common sense to not look as out of place as possible in a gay bar and wave a baggy in front of everyone and proceed to sell to someone a kilo in plain sight. And what about the well-dressed fellas that OD'd in the alley way? I thought alley ways were reserved for crack/heroin/homelessness not fine dressed lads with an ounce of blow. My limited knowledge of drugs would propel me, by the standards of this film, as the world's most brilliant drug dealer the world has ever seen which is why this is probably the worst drug movie you will ever see. I had to stop watching, it was hurting my brain. At least an unrealistic movie like, say, Escape from LA, has the self mockery aspect that you can kind of laugh along with, but this, this, is just deplorable.
