Lots of war-type films have come out over the years, and most are OK to meh, but something about this one was done better than most. Aside from the exceptional directing by Fernando Coimbra, it's not like it had top actors in it, but his directing gave it a feel of a documentary/drama, and added interesting action and drama twist to it. Better than I expected, although slowly paced. It's a 7/10 from me
One word to describe this movie: underwhelming. I love war movies but this was bad. Uninteresting and uncompelling story. Ambitious but uncreative way to try to show absurdity of war. Average acting, average photography, bad script with boring dialog. Boring direction with a lot of filler time. You will spend at least 20 min of this film watching soldiers drive in Humvees on dusty roads. A couple of decent action scenes but very unimpressive emotional communication to the viewer. There is a point to the movie but it comes over pretty clumsy. Music is uninteresting. Gave it a five cos it can be decent time killer for a war movies fan. But you will forget this film tomorrow already.
