I liked it, a good tense thriller, with a good story. But the plot turns out tooooooo much exaggerated at the end. If they didn't overdo it at the end it would have had a much higher score and it would have been excellent. ===== I liked it, a good tense thriller, with a good story. Awesome! Nicolas Cage is known for picking some unique even terrible characters LOL. But I love him and his movie his emotion is really raw. This would have been cool if it had had a sequel. If vigilante justice was really like this there would be a lot of less crime out there. Great film I was a little disappointed by the ending so I gave it a 7.
I have been on a kick of B and worse movies as of late and they have disappointed. This one was a good movie and well worth the watch. The movie keeps a good pace and is quite interesting with a pay it forward (dark) kind of feel. For those who do not like Cage's movies, I can't figure out why. Sure he isn't a great actor and doesn't really look the part for the lasies he gets, but his movies are entertaining.
Early on you'll ask yourself if this is really a Nicolas Cage movie, the acting seems less than what we expect from everyone, the camera angles and music don't always fit the scene, but the story keeps you following to the end. And it's a great plot that gets more complicated and leaves the viewer more curious, not less. There is some violence, but they limited the gore and kept the level of suspense high throughout. But in many scenes you feel there could have been a better element that would have made it a great scene. I would recommend the movie, just know it obviously didn't make the cut somewhere because I had not heard of the title until seeing on the Redbox rack. What a shame, even if marketed well, this would be a well received movie with the same issues, but it would have made more money for everyone. Now go rent it.
sometimes we need these types of movies for a change to chill out a bit and just have fun to be honest this movie is good, the plot was interesting and I loved it, the acting was good, the best thing is that i was hooked up through out the whole movie, sometimes we need to just chill out and watch a good old thriller like this movies,The story is simple Nicholas cage was offered to seek justice from a dude who raped his wife, the story get more interesting as the movie goes by, . I won't say any spoilers because i don't want to spoil thing for you, get your pop corn, prepare your DVD and enjoy this smooth roller coaster ride, don't think about plot holes and stuff just chill out and have fun....
Well cast and acted. This is a thriller on par with Parallax View. Suspense, tension and action. Highly recommend.
The story was interesting and something new for me. The plot was mostly exciting. Overall, it was one of the better films with Nicolas Cage. Unfortunately, his current films are very bad.
Strange to find Nicolas Cage in a film like this. It's made on what appears to be a cheap budget or that's the impression I got anyway. Mr Cage is his predicable self and nobody to be honest really stands out in this crime related thriller. What I did get though was a strong original storey that was powerfully delivered. It asks a few questions along the way and when it's all over I'm sure like me you'll be asking 'would I do that'.. It's always good for a film to spark a healthy debate. So the overall opinion I can give is that it has a creative plot that definitely gives you the thrills but the over-acting and cheesy lines don't really fit... An easy watch.
The PURGE THE GAME Memento and the photo of guy pierce, that one photo, suggesting that topher grace in the double, dennis quaid in vantage point, and plenty of other cover arts on DVD boxes: BUT the plot, the action, the reality, and the comparisons and versatility of the actors was fine. There have to be ten lines explaining the absurdities of how this could also be a virtual tour of The fight club, without all the hallucinogenic referencing. so, the action pertaining to assisting and recovering the problem and being quicker than law enforcement regarding major crime is what seems to be the PLOT. I am somehow too unfortuneate to not write a synapses any more involving allegories and allusions that would fill the necessary space to review films on this web site, even though, I have typed plenty of lines before, like when I reviewed INLAND EMPIRE and that too was too much and not accepted by MODERATORS or whatever.
SEEKING JUSTICE (2012) **1/2 Nicolas Cage, January Jones, Guy Pearce, Harold Perrinneau, Jennifer Carpenter, Xander Berkeley. When his beautiful wife is brutally attacked and raped, mild-mannered high school literature teacher Cage (in a surprisingly tic-free turn) finds himself unwittingly mixed up with a vigilante cabal spear-headed by mystery man Pearce (snakily good) and O.Henry/Shakespearean overtones be damned, attempts to gain some wiggle room by uncovering a larger conspiracy. Directed with lean precision by veteran Roger Donaldson and a decent enough screenplay by Todd Hickey & Robert Tannen the film careens from wrong-man-at-the-right-time potboiler to freefall action thriller (some nice set pieces including a busy freeway and a dilapidated shopping mall all in seam New Orleans for local flava) ultimately runs on vapors in its jerry-built third act, but Cage makes in engaging to say the least.
