A solid Korean thriller that boasts some commendable action sequences; it seems to me that Korean cinema has moved on from being inspired by the BOURNE films to instead being inspired by the JOHN WICK franchise. And who can blame them? This one's a version of the perennial 'body jump' storyline, and it's as complex and fast-paced as befits that premise, so much so that there's never a dull second, just the plot moving inexorably onwards.
The special effects live up to the intriguing sci-fi premise, but the interpersonal presentation is inconsistently revealed and murkily convoluted. The initial slow pacing causes the setup of the story to drag out. Then the hyper action-packed finale comes in the form of a frenzied resolution without enough satisfaction of the plot complications. The dubbed dialog mis-coordinates with the subtitles for increased confusion and sometimes results in unintended hilarity. The bad guys have way too much of the upper hand throughout, and there is nowhere near enough righteous retribution. Even so, it manages to have an upbeat ending and turns out to be worth the watch.
Lets get something straight before anything else...this is NOT a sci-fi film in any shape or form! If anything it is a mild supernatural film as it involves a man's spirit jumping/hopping into the bodies of several people who are all involved in a corrupt drug crime caper. Korean films are the most interesting being made today...I love them. This is a non stop action packed twisting story with good acting, excellent fight choreography and a superb bunch of actors who blend well and make this thriller special. The opening is a bit weak as there is no clear distinction into what exactly is happening to the protagonist Ian; in fact he makes about 2 or 3 body hops before you grasp what is going on and where the film is heading to. If you like Korean films you will love this but if you don't know what Korean films are like, give yourself a treat. Its way more entertaining than the pathetic hogwash that is incessantly churned out by the American market!
The idea of concept is amazing and something you don't see it usually, including Action and Sci-Fi mixed very good with a lot of potential. The man was killed, but his soul was here to take the revenge and save his wife. Definitely doesn't deserve this rating 6.2, It's on general 7.5/10.
To those that say Korean movie has evolve from bourne to johnwick. Bruh, korean movie has always been good from long before, go watch Oldboy, that fightscene on the narrow hallway. Asian film has always do more gore stuff before Hollywood. Like RaidRedemption & ManfromNowhere. Stop "hollywood done this & that 1st." Anyway there're other better swap body Korean movies out there like Beauty Inside that done it way better than this movie. Instead of having 1person acting different role & only have other body he possessed to only appear in mirror reflection, they should've follow BeautyInside idea of having other actor/actress do the stunt, fight scene etc & that way the movie will be better. Anyway 6/10 rating. Could've done better but really the story is lacking. Good action movie? Maybe but for 1time watch only. Anyway if you like this hero go watch TheOutlaws. That's his best film/movie.
Entertaining but far from being perfect. It was a bit confusing at the beginning, later on things got clear gradually, some events and scenes weren't convincing to me, more or less mannered, however I liked the action stuff, the continuous tension which was pleasant, overall, not bad.
The story and making of different person faces in single scene done very well. Handle of scene by scene very well Action crime movie some twist and turns in the movie Any way time pass good movie not feel bad after watching it.
