Good movie!
Good movie!
I was blown away by the characters Kendra and Ben in Real Love and looked forward to what would happen in their lives, therefore I watched this movie with a lot of anticipation. In terms of quality, it was pretty good and fairly believable however to be fair, it was not as good as the Real Love storyline. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoyed it pretty much although the outcome was a bit too predictable. The two movies though does show how choices can affect one's life and there was more than enough of this that is very comparable to real life situations. Loved the fact that there was a wholesome ending and both the main characters continued with good quality acting. To Mary J Blige...you've set the bar pretty high...very impressive! I look forward to more of this.
I don't think I would have liked this movie as much had I not seen part one, Mary J Blige's Real Love. Watching the story develop and the characters grow, made part two more interesting. Ok. I'll admit it. I fell in love with Ben (Da'Vinchi) and Kendra ( Ajiona Alexis) in part one of the story(Real Love). So, in part two when Ben showed up at Terry's fundraiser, I was excited. There was that on screen chemistry. They look like they belong together. I started rooting for him and Kendra to get back together. Strength of a Woman, part two of Ben and Kendra's story, starts fourteen years later. Kendra is a successful photographer married to a Neurologist. Who isn't around very much. Kendra is anxious to start a family She is now in her mid thirties. But Kendra's strength is tested, and once again she has to dig deep to regain control of her life. I would recommend watching Mary J Blige's Real Love first to get the full story.
I first thought it was about Mary J Blige's life but quickly realised it was 2 movies that she produced. It was a really beautiful story of love and how things can go wrong when everything seems to be going so good. I enjoyed the realness it possessed and the relatability of it. Some of the actors I've seen in other projects but overall I thought the actors were all great and did a good job in their roles. I feel really proud of Mary J Blige for venturing into new roles outside of music and acting. You go girl great job. I loved both movies Real Love and the Strength of a woman. Would make a good television series.
I saw a movie that said "Mary J Bliges Strength of a Woman 2023". What is this to do with Mary J Bliges?? Nothing as I found out. I quickly accelerated through the movie as I realized that this was nothing but a boring soap. And I don't regret it because is remained boring till the end. It's just a sickening boring soap. Only the rich houses are nice. All the rest is so boooring, and bad acting at that. We follow the life of some Kendra, whoever that is, who is a photographer, not a singer. I won't tell of the story because that would be a spoiler, but I tell you it's just a soap, and nothing to do, that I know, with Mary J Blidge.
Finally! A portrayal of a real Black Woman I could identify with. I was absolutely disgusted with the filthy, foul mouthed, nymphomaniacs with their breast pushed up as far as they could go looking like a damn about to break while going to work! Totally disgusting. But I could identify with Kendra who was a lady inside and out. She had respect for herself and didn't have to pound her chest with foul language!!! Kendra and Ben were both well cast and I was proud for them to be cast before the world and show all black women are not loose and vile. Thank you. Please consider making this a series!!!
