Good movie!
Good movie!
Superhost is a fun ride through and through and it is that way because of the performance by Grace Gillam as Rebecca, she was incredible and funny as Hell. Superhost is a must watch movie.
This movie is one of the best horror movies of the year! Really great performances from the cast but I got to say, salute to Gracie Gillam for stealing the entire show with her absolutely crazy Oscar worthy performance! A new horror icon is born and her name is Rebecca! I would kill to see a sequel!
This movie has the same basic plot as Creep 2 (2017) which is a far superior film to this one. Both feature struggling YouTubers going to a remote location to get shocking footage to save their shrugging channel. Naturally they both end up getting more than they bargained for. This movie isn't terrible , the pacing and tone throughout most of the film is actually very enjoyable . The corny YouTuber videos seem hyper realistic and very comical in a good way . The so-bad-its-good quirky tone is amusing, and definitely makes you care what happens to these characters. Actors all bright solid performances (Gilliam is very good as Rebecca, the host.) This film (unlike Creep 2) absolutely misses the landing. And the end is absolutely ridiculous. Poor pacing and execution. The very end also seemed to be a satire of reality in a movie trying to be realistic. It isn't very scary at any point in the film. So it's missable for sure but not the worst thing on Shudder.
Teddy (Osric Chau) and Claire (Sara Canning) are vloggers who specialize in renting vacation homes and then giving them a review. Nice work if you can get it in Colorado. They rent a lovely remote cabin with a great view from Betty Lou 52 (Gracie Gillam) aka Rebecca. Teddy plans on proposing. Things at the cabin don't seem right with frequent glitches and clues that things are not what they seem. I loved this film. It is simple and inane but Gracie Gillam was great in her role, making the film. And Barbara Crampton has carved out a small role. Is she going to be the female horror cameo Trejo? Guide: No sex or nudity. Don't recall any swearing.
I really enjoyed this film. Low budget, but cool. Looks like the film maker and cast worked hard to make the best film they could and it was worth it. I love movies like this and I would support any filmmaker that puts heart into creating horror genre films. Is it the greatest production ever done, no. It is a fun ride and a lot better than all the political garbage movies lately that big studios have been producing. All focusing on teaching current event lessons instead of being entertaining horror. The new Candyman being an example of ruining the "fun" of a horror movie in my opinion. Superhost is not very long so don't jus listen to reviews watch it and decide for yourself. I'm glad I did.
So guys it's a good horror thriller movie.. nothing bad as some of review saying..so just watch you'll enjoy for sure if you like horror thriller movies.
Another boring woke slasher flick with two unlikeable victims waiting around to be killed. Definitely no toxic masculinity (real men) in this movie. The male was a complete wimp and no one seems to try or know how to defend themselves against one woman with a knife. Pathetic movie. Do yourself a favor and skip this garbage.
Crazy lady with a knife. I dont think so. Grow some balls man, throw some rocks do anything, do you want to live.
