The only question I have is why? The title says it all. I thought it might be tongue in cheek, like it might be a horror comedy. Like there might be something to it that would explain and justify its existence. But it's not. It takes itself far too seriously for the title that it has and never really goes anywhere that isn't completely predictable within the first twenty minutes. Don't waste the time. This movie upset me for being so bad and the only reason it doesn't get a 1 is because it looked okay and there were one or two decent performances. I'd rather fall from a wall and never, ever be put back together again.

I gave a five because of the acting and suspense. That being said I didn't know what was going on for most of the movie. Did the mom have dementia or was she possessed? Was the doll working through her? Is she having a psychotic episode by killing her children? Some clarity would have been nice. Or maybe I'm dense.

It came across as if they didn't know what genre or style of horror movie they were trying to make, The acting wasn't bad but the story was all over the place.

From my ears, to my eyes... If this was a college project, I get it. But a 1mil budget? Come on.... Put back the 25$ coffee mugs....................................................................................................................................................

HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME, (4) and today we review ..... childsplay 17 ......???? Another killer doll flick ..... ugh .... so ...so many killer doll flicks .... dolls, childs play of course , annabell, tons of rips offs from the 80/90s and now days its like you walk through the house you stubb your toe on one just sitting there at the end of the couch ..... like what ? ... why is there a killer doll film sitting there ??? BECAUSE THERE EVERYWHERE !!!!! Now here we have humpty dumpty ..... no not the awesome rapper from WAY back that does the humpty dance , heres your chance , to do the hump ..... do me baby ..do the humpty humpty ...... sorry ... dang that songs catchy ..... no no ....here we have an odd film that uses the character in name only it seems to created you guessed it a killer doll film .... HOWEVER im going ot give this film some credit ...the story is pretty decent .... i mean i saw the "twist " from a mile away and they do still leave it questionable at the end BUT over all yea its something you got figured out early on ... but over all its good ...... the rest of the film .....weeeelllllll not so much ..... the acting ... i dont know .... those englandland people to me never act good in movies with a couple of acceptions .....this not being one of those lol..... so the acting comes across kindof flat over all ... its good in parts the old lady is good at being confused but im not sure if shes acting or not to be honest ..... they literally might have kidnapped her from an old peoples home and skipped her meds for a couple of days BAM instant old lady for the film ..... the moody tone was solid ...good job crew on that one ..... and sound was good .... so it had redeeming quality BUT the main question was it entertaining ? .... eh .... the first half almost bored me to turn it off ....the last half was "ok".... 54:34 = jack in the box from krampus and WHY ...just why would you attempt using full CGI dolls just for one scene in this film ... the whole thing ...you had atmosphere going on ...dark moody lighting ...a storm .... oohhhhh scary .... and then humpty moves ....oh no ....AND some other dolls move ?.... BUT they are cgi ? .... and laughable ....i wish i was drinking so i could have done a spit take ... i get she was "going crazy" BUT the other dolls = not needed ..... and cgi = REALLY NOT NEEDED considering you literally could have had REAL dolls (not like "realdolls" ... though im sure that would have made for a much more entertaining film lol) and just hand puppeted them BAM it would have kept the tone of the film and not taken me / im sure others out of the film .... one of the biggest problems lower budget films have is they get overzealous and try something bigger than self in attempt to have a epic scene and present themselves asa much bigger productions value ....thats ambitious and good for them wanting that BUT 99% of the time it fails and hard ..... and when a film takes you out of it ....the films then fails hard ...and cgi suddenly when no where else it happens and for little to no reason AND its bad ?.....YOU ARE THE 99% ..... finally the REALLY late jump scare .... wow ... really ... my grandma moves faster than that scene ... how you going to try and build suspense like a crappy lego set, did you eve read the instructions ? ...because im pretty sure when it was over you forgot some of the pieces ...... SO sorry humpty but im not dancing for this one .... 3/10.

I'm almost lost for words. I've seen some bad movies in my time, especially horror ones, this could actually be the very worst. I'll give it a generous two instead of one only because admittedly I have seen worse acting but that's not saying a lot really. I'd rather watch paint dry honestly. How I badly wish I could get that 90 minutes of my life back.

Valina vertue23/05/23 06:01

Now I knew this was gonna be cheesy judging by the title and the cover art over exposing the creature but that's what I was hoping. Ive always loved watching these low budget horror movies but this was really bad. The actors were pretty good, not gonna lie, but the story was all over the place. It was trying really hard to be multiple different genres at once which really killed the movies overall vibe as a creepy puppet story. It was really boring and seemed longer than an hour and a half 😂😂

mercyjohnsonokojie23/05/23 06:01

So I was expecting the movie to be a B grade horror, one of those movies so stupid it's funny, but it wasn't at all. But it was unexpectedly a decent movie. Worth watching, the acting was good, and the story was pretty good too.

This one was really tough to get through. Took me 3 days, and 3 separate sittings. I absolutely could not get through this without getting distracted, daydreaming, or feeling guilty about doing nothing and have to go do something productive. Beyond that, it is quite tedious, hard to follow, and in desperate need of shortening the runtime. Any time one character touches another character, it looks awkward; clearly the cast have not been trained to fake holds, grips, hits, and pushes. Most of the time, the camera cut away so you didn't see anything at all, so the editor was aware of this issue, but not of the tedious scenes and other acting issues that should have never left the cutting room floor. Also, this cast struggles to fake being dead. Close to the last scene there, you can clearly see dead characters breathing, flinching, swaying, etc. It's just not put together well, and it's rife with lost potential in lack of editing. I wanted to be sympathetic with the subject matter, but in the end, there is just not enough finesse, tension, anything daring, or story to make up for its shortcomings.
