Good movie!
I couldn't watch the whole thing it was so bad, movie jumped around with little context and the character interactions were forced and made me cringe.
The Devils Ring movie by Director Juan Salas, succeeds in all levels. The lead actors empowering roles like Anthony Santiago (Alexander Luna) showing compelling strength for his chance at redemption, to Alcides Silva (Roy Desilva) exceptional integrity standing by his boxer and exceptional supporting roles from Nathan Salas (Julian Reyes) and Cameron Vitosh (Danny Santiago).
This is an awful movie, none of the cast can box (or act, straight from a community drama club) and the big fight is in a gym with 1/2 dozen people present. The lead destroys everyone's life around him so he can get a minor title shot. Very low B movie, 90 minutes I will never get back.
I enjoyed the story, from start to finish. Representative of the family bonds in the latin community. Nice to see some actors from blood in,blood out.
The Devil's ring dances between genres as it navigates between a redemption story, a street drama, a mob film and a boxing film. Alexander Luna delivers a powerful performance as the ex-con trying to make good, living up to the memory of his father. Al Dias, breaking from his usual tough guy persona, give a more vulnerable heartfelt aura to his grizzled veteran boxer persona. The intermittent drone footage does it's job setting locations, but can be a bit jarring at times. A great effort was made by all and it shows.
Very bad acting no special effects and you dont know whats happening half the time. The fighter has to lose a fight or win one or lose there soul to the devil ,and the Devil is not scary looking or mean looking. You can tell there trying to act out scenes and not live the part . I could act better then most of them. There are a few good actors but the movie is so bad who cares anyways.
This is the kind of movie that makes you feel the power and love for a family. Its so intense that the dramatic scenes will definitely make you cry. I saw it 3 times already and its so good because it has so many details and such a good script. I definitely recommend to see this movie....
I really enjoyed watching this boxing movie, it is funny, entertaining and dramatic, there are some really powerful dramatic scenes that will make you cry... great acting that makes you connect with the characters.
