Amanda Jennings (Katharina Sporrer) skips out on her wedding in Dallas and takes a one-way rental to Houston. Upon returning her car in a wedding dress she discovers no one is at the 24-hour service desk. A little chloroform later she is in the trunk of a car with duct tape. At this point, the film is mainly Amanda in the trunk conversing with the kidnapper (Caspar Phillipson). She attempts to escape, people discover she is in the trunk, and eventually, she makes a call to her banker daddy (Hother Bøndorff+Christopher de Courcy-Ireland) and her would-be husband (Adam Kitchen). I am not sure why they keep making these boring one-person films with someone contained somewhere. Waste of film and time. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
* NON-SPOILER * The Girl In The Trunk (2024) is a disappointing thriller that fails to deliver on its intriguing premise. The plot is riddled with clichés and lacks coherence (I mean, just imagine leaving the person you've just kidnapped their mobile phone, with plenty of battery, to use anytime), while the characters are poorly developed. Despite a few moments of suspense, the overall execution feels amateurish. The pacing drags, making it a tedious watch. It's a missed opportunity that squanders its potential. The dialogue is stilted, and the supposed twists are predictable, leaving the audience disengaged. The cinematography, while occasionally striking, can't save this film from its fundamental flaws. A forgettable experience, not worth the time.
All you can say is um kidnapped and all the relatives/contacts on the phone is ridiculous with what they come out with to the point of so fake, no none would say that and most of all annoying just like her instead of saying I'm kidnapped. It just goes on. It's not the worst movie out there but badly written and infuriating. Visually it's a very good set of a car boot, in fact it may have been a real car used! Times when she should talk she doesn't and when she should be quiet the character is mouthy. I'm still in shock after watching this and my blood pressure went sky high with the phone calls being so infuriating!!
I saw this and liked it, the score seemed low in other reviews like 3 and 4, this didn't seem like a bad movie really at all with good plot devices maybe with small twists and leads to where its going. Not an expert but I though first viewing was cool and I'll watch it again. I guess sort of low budget but it works well. The story is simple but moves pretty well along, if you like suspense it's good at keeping a simple theme going well. I started watching some low budget or independent films and they can be tough to watch with poor sound or just off putting acting and scenes. But this is a good watch I think compared to other's and in its own right.
First off she had PLENTY of CHANCES to ESCAPE! Secondly, How many kidnappers let their victims make phone calls or even keep a phone? And third and this is what I am getting to .....if she was BITTEN 3 TIMES by a rattlesnake? SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD! NO IF's ANDS or BUTS! To have her supposedly LIVE after she was bitten 3 times was the stupidest writing I have ever seen in a movie! I did not know how utterly bad this show was until I watched it. Will never gets back that time in my life again.... I thought at the end she was dead because the guy ran over her dad! So I can see hoe the officer survived by a vest but how do you survive getting run over with a car? If they wanted to make a movie why not make it at least a little bit believeable?
This is a film where you won't find a single well-conceived idea. Scenes and events unfold like an assembly line - each one more foolish and boring than the last. The film is full of inconsistencies. The dialogues are dull, and the kidnapper's rhetoric constantly (and tragically humorously) resembles that of Hannibal Lecter. You're probably wondering why I didn't just stop the film after 15 minutes. I wanted to see the extent of human stupidity. Curiosity killed the cat, and my brain still hurts from the pile of nonsense I witnessed in this film. Do yourself a favor and don't watch this film.
The worst movie I have ever seen in my life. There is no story. There is no plot. Do not waste your timeThere is no logic to the events. The order of events does not suggest to you that the writer spent 5 minutes writing the filmI am just surprised by the actors who agreed to do this film. I advise the production company for this film to delete it because it would be a disgrace to them. Find another movie and watch it instead because in any case, whatever your choice is, it will be better than this farce if I could rate it 0There is no story, no enthusiasm or suspense, just boredom don't watch this.
Amateur actors and very poorly directed. Extremely low budget movie choices but it has reasonably good production quality, and reasonably good sound and boring repetitive background music. Special effects were also acceptable. It has some clever dialog and plot points, but it breaks down and goes off the rails quickly with several very poor choices. The story line offers a few good moments, but it devolves with several big plot holes and many inconsistencies that destroy the realism. Unfortunately some of the acting performances were truly awful, such as the father character. The ending worked, but the bad performances ruined that as well.
Good movie!
