I love this movie,very good story 10/10 Best movie in 2019 for me. I would like a new sequel

I really quite liked this film; steady, minimalist, evenly paced narrative with good acting, good direction, close camera work and creditable editing, and great score achieving measured suspense without being cheap or obvious. Rune of the Dead is no Hollywood blockbuster, but that's in its favour; the composer tells me it was filmed in two weeks on virtually no budget, and I can see that to be the case. That's a tight schedule. Not only for film students but discerning audience, its consistently dark mood carries the plot really very well, captures the pain and grief respectfully and without apology, with an intensely satisfying end. I am not one to slam low budget films, but discuss their work with the producer and director as much as I can, especially seeking to encourage new young creatives to be inspired to get in and have a go. I came away from this film looking forward to further collaboration between Rasmus Tirzitis and Simon Kölle, should be interesting.

First off genuine Norse Saga lore of "Zombies" The "Sendegar" are a "real" little known physical ghost in the Norse Sagas who take a physical form. This was not for those who want coked up Vikings smashing beer bottles over the head but real folks who had a life outside of going a "Viking". They handled the social life and the midwinter festival so well without the need to make it "Pagan" because they were it. Brilliant movie. I liked the mainly Scandinavian actors. You don't have to be the ethnic culture you play but it is refreshing when First Nation actors play" Indians" or Jews play King David or oh my even Jesus. Really unique with a lot of heart and the soul of the northern forest.

Its not an action, Thriller or even Horror!!. Its a 97 % slow burn drama in the woods. A family waiting for 2 years for father to return home, venting their frustrations and longing through conversations, and a daughter who carries around bow and arrow and day dreams some bad stuff. That's it!! nothing much!!!. Watch it if you have nothing going on in life.

The movie took a lot of time to start the plot, that makes the movie very boring. I expect better twist, but unfortunately it's very old common story. Not bad movie, you may be love it if you have enough patience.

Not really much of a horror, a slow burn suspense maybe? Either way, the acting is solid and the characters believable. The costumes and settings have an authentic feel. I found the soundtrack fitting. Not much happens until the end, they take their time letting you get to know the characters. With little things happening here or there... Just enough for you to know that things are just not quite right. Overall I personally found it an enjoyable movie but maybe not the movie for hardcore horror or action fans. If you can appreciate slower paced movies with a historic setting then give it a chance. Props given for the mixture of genre ... A zombie, viking movie... who knew! Lol.... Not much in the way of zombies through most of it, mainly the last 20 mins or so. So once again I am saying that if you do not do well sitting through slow paced movies then this one probably is not for you. For those that are ok with that then definitely give it a shot.

Don't waste your time. I kept expecting something exciting to happen, but it never did. Throughout this movie, there is a constant and slightly underwhelming pace, with just enough tiny spikes of thrill to keep you watching and expecting more, only to be disappointed when the scene changes after absolutely nothing having happened. Nearing the end, the movie finally introduces fighting and, lo and behold, it feels fake and staged. A few characters have sudden changes of heart and make nonsensical decisions. The movie ends with such a lame twist, that it made me feel bad after wasting so much time on it.

Basically, nothing much happens in the first 70 minutes, and what little happens in the last 35 is totally forgettable and uninspired. Not an horror, not a thriller, not a drama, but rather a failed attempt at each of those.

I never imagined he could reach such a tall level of boring. Good background music, it's unfortunately totally without timing. Very poor movie lines. Poor script. In all, very weak. Without an educational touch, without spirit, without any imagination. A kid from elementary school could have written a better script.
