This movie was one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen! That pretty much sums it all up. There was no good acting (except from the only actor in the movie). The storyline was the 'same old horror movie' storyline that has been tried and tested dozens of times before and its just not fun anymore. The entire movie was so obvious that you could tell exactly what would happen 5 minutes before it actually happened! And the ending was absolutely laugh-able (and yes, people were in there laughing at how stupid it was). My advice: Don't spend money on this one for a theatre, watch something else. Buy it and watch it on a DVD if you really have to!
It was an okay movie i guess but i just had a few issues with the story 1. really a box 2. if your kid buys a box and it doesn't open and has weird writing don't you like look up what is going on or written. parent fail. with that said that fact that you see the demon also took away from this movie and the fact that that is not how it goes with possession you don't see a golem looking guy crawl out of the screen. there was some great things in this movie though, the horror factor was there it just had a lot of implausibility for a "based on real life" movie.
An updated Exorcist!!!! I thought I was going to see a movie that should be direct to video but I was pleasantly surprised. The possession is a scary movie if you believe in evil spiritual attacks. Growing up Catholic I found the movie scary. The possession's script goes through the stages of a demonic attack of a young girl, who buys this mysterious object at a yard sale. The frustration the family endures with the child's depression and moods creates a slow tension for the movie. The girl becomes more isolated and insane, much like the classic movie The Exorcist. Possession is well acted, and directed. The movie has a surprise ending which leaves the room for a part two. I give Possession a 7 out of 10.
Everything is really bad in this movie, really really bad.
