Trapped in the Cabin

Good movie!

SPOILERS Fustration- I can't imagine the writers doing any form of research. What woman goes to a huge cabin in the woods, winter time, solo, and her family doesn't have the address? What woman, has no bars on her phone, doesn't alarm her "mom"/friends about it? What woman doesn't carry any weapon while she's solo traveling? What woman holds a butter knife while the stalker writes on thw glass....sigh...I can't. Did they ask 1 woman -any women, a blog post, social media for a POV? This felt like a weird * being played out. Exposition- What was the exposition about with her "mom"? Did the main character like the guy? Dislike him? The mom laying everything out -What? Could we have setyp more with the actual stalker vs this? Dialogue- During the scene where she chose to run outside in the snow vs going back into the safe cabin, she meets her fling and they discuss what happen to him TWICE. I got it the first time. Clearly no one thought to review the script one final time. Side note: I commend the actors. They worked with what they had. Bottomline- The script felt rushed, not edited, cared for and it showed in the final product.

This movie could've been written by 10 year-olds. It's not even so bad that it's good; it's just bad. Upon watching the first scene, with off-brand Meghan Markle talking to her editor (we'll call him Ginge) in the car, we knew straight away that he was the villain of the story. This was later confirmed by painfully obvious hints and a poorly executed red-herring of a 'handyman' as the expected villain. The movie is dragged out by boring video calls to Meghan's mother and a friend, who are sat talking to the camera as if they are in a job interview. These interactions aren't the only examples of poor writing and direction, as even scenes where Meghan is alone, she smiles widely and talks to herself, because, either the audience is too stupid to figure out the plot without narration, or the acting is too poor for the audience to infer what she's feeling. The main character spends the entire movie operating on two brain cells, one noteable example being her fleeing from a locked house into the path of a killer (Ginge), of whom she knows is right outside, into a dark woods, with a broken ankle, far away from any help. This is all whilst believing this killer is the able handyman who is familiar with the layout of the woods and unlike her, does not have a broken ankle. Ten seconds after running away from this killer, she runs into the handyman, wearing different clothes to Ginge, who she believes is the killer and doesn't believe his explanation of being absent the morning after their one-night-stand (which was incredibly unrealistic, idealised bs, and something we skipped through since we were not invested in the either of the characters, let alone their forcefully awkward and rushed interactions). She then proceeds to drop the knife at the heels of this handyman, who she believes is the killer, and hobbles away into the barren woods. She deserved to die for her stupidity, but miraculously survives after waiting until she's tied up by Ginge to start manipulating him to escape, through his obsession with her, and missing countless opportunities to kill him as she gains the upper hand (because he gets distracted by a ring she placed on the ground!?). She also proceeds to give herself a long pep talk and stand completely still to undo the rope binding her hands, whilst missing her opportunity to alert the police man, with a gun, who is right outside with Ginge (who kills the police man for some reason, even though he was about to drive off). After running Ginge over, she ignores directions to stay in the police car until more units arrive and hobbles back into the house. The only reason why we watched this movie to the end is the beautiful scenery and house. The movie itself was a poorly executed imitation of the movie 'Hush' (which is brilliant and is a much better alternative to this abomination) and thus deserves 0 stars.

No character building. This movie takes bad decision making to a whole new low of stupid. Example, the female lead takes a jog in the woods in the snow, wearing tennis shoes, while wearing ear jacks. Actors deliver lines without being believable, so as you're watching you're thinking to yourself, "these actors suck". The antagonist literally looks like a 45 year old Jo Biden and has a hair sniffing moment. One moment the female is being threatened while tied up and literally seconds later they are reminiscing about their first date and laughing and smiling. The male stalker takes mistakes made by bad guys, to a unseen level of dumb.

Two number ones for the price of one. First, the dumbest pretext for a movie ever! The agent being the aggressor. Even with that terrible premise, it could have been a much better movie had they kept his identity secret for a while- could have built the suspense a lot more. Second, the dumbest woman ever on a Lifetime movie! She knows the handyman for what- 5 minutes- and has wild shower sex with him. She furthers the stupidity by (after thinking he trashed the cabin and went through her stuff) by crying and moaning about "losing" him. Then, when the masked maniac is outside the cabin she LEAVES the cabing and runs right into him. But she does make one miraculous recovery. She is limping around on her injured right foot and then she ends up giving Jason several vicious kicks with the miraculously cured right foot, but then she ends up limping again as if it's broken. And, the fight scene at the end- pure malarky. And Jason's miraculous recovery to attack her again- terrible. Jason also is not a very good shot. SKIP THIS WORTHLESS JUNK.

I watched this movie with my sister last night and we were both shocked (but not really surprised) at how stupid the lead character was! She just kept on making the most dumbest decisions ever that constantly put herself in danger. Not even a 6 year old would be this idiotic, leaving her vegetables in the oven and then going on a walk in the middle of the woods. By that point I already knew what was going to happen next. The only character I felt bad for was Nathan. The Rebecca character (who was basically an off-brand version of Meghan Markle) decided to hook up with some random stranger that she only knew for a few hours. Then someone looks through her laptop so she automatically assumes it's Nathan and stops trusting him. I knew right from the start it was the editor, even before the scene where off-brand Meghan escapes from the hooded figure only to run into Nathan no more than three seconds later. Then off-brand Meghan was so convinced that he was responsible for the stalking that she refused his help even though it was dangerous outside. And this ultimately led to Jason's reveal as the psycho, and Nathan's untimely death. Felt so bad for him, he really did seem like a nice guy and was innocent in this situation. He deserved way better than off-brand Meghan lol. The rest of the movie is just off-brand Meghan making stupid decision after stupid decision and the editor constantly tossing her around like a rag doll so I won't spare you the details. Just another horrible Lifetime movie with bad acting, ridiculous plot, and annoying characters. Nothing new.

Rebecca Collins has got writer's block and needs a change of scenery so her managing editor, Jason, offers use of his cabin with no one to bother her while she's getting in touch with her inner muse. With beautiful scenery as a backdrop, she has all the comforts anyone could want including hidden security cameras EVERYWHERE inside and outside of the property. She's out for a run once day and runs into Nathan, who lives next door, and there's an instant attraction. Then the hot water goes out and she also discovers he's the handyman and they have a one-night stand. Rebecca awakes the next day and Nathan is nowhere to be found with stuff broken and the door left open. Why would Nathan just up and leave without a trace? You will have to watch this one to see how things develop! The actress who plays Rebecca bears a striking resemblance to Megan Markle, I noticed right away. A small cast and a tight script makes for an interesting thriller, here. DEFINITELY recommend for a good watch!!!
