Reading the title and the main story, I was thinking, that Trust means in this case between the targeted teenager and the online predator, but it is even more. Trust means in this movie the belief in the family for each other, which is a certain point of time absolutely missing between the main characters, and the film is showing the way how they are able (or not able) to get it back. After the first half an hour it is visible, that the main character in the movie is not the daughter, but the father, since he is the one, who generates most of the feelings around him, and he needs to fix everything. So one of the main objective of the film, is to show, how difficult being a father in the 21. century, with all the potential dangers around the family, knowing, how big physical and spiritual support need to be maintained. Big respect for David Schwimmer and Clive Owen!

I was scrolling thorough Netflix and stumbled upon this film quite by accident. If you are hesitating at all about whether or not you should take the time to see this film, don't. This is a must see movie for parents and children above the age of 12. The subject matter is very serious and frighteningly relevant for families today. It's not preachy or trying too hard to convey a message. The acting all the way around was so amazing that it's easy to forget that you're watching a movie. Every single actor/actress in this film put forth Oscar winning performances, and I will never doubt David Schwimmer again. When I read that "Trust" was pulled from nationwide distribution, I couldn't believe it! What the hell is the matter with this industry! We (the public) are constantly inundated with garbage, smut and vacuous drivel, yet this film is pulled from the market? I don't understand! As an adult, please watch this film. Then take the time to watch it with your family.

This is a great movie. It does deal with the crime aspects and the actual event that takes place but ultimately this is a film about pain. Everybody's pain, the family's, friends, all the people whose lives were affected in such a significant way. The performances are exceptional, they are emotional without hitting clichés and they really get you to feel what is happening. It also has a really strong and honest ending which keeps the integrity of the story in place. One to watch :)

Are we supposed to feel sorry for this idiot girl? Have a little common sense and these creeps can't get away with anything.

I saw this on a whim. I'm familiar with Cive Ownen, but I never thought much of his movies. This, however, really is a great movie in terms of both story and acting. The story is complicated enough to hold the interest of the audience, and the acting is good enough that I could get lost in the story. I hope that everyone involved is recognized for their outstanding work. Plot Summary: Family tries to come to terms with the rape of a young girl without further traumatizing her. The young girl's father is confronted with his inability to undo the wrong done to his daughter, and the daughter is, in turn, confronted with the fallibility of her father.

First of all let it be clear that this is not a horror movie so IMDb shouldn't categorize it that way. It could be a horror story for the parents of one of those victims, that I agree, but as a movie it is not a horror. It's a crime drama about a young girl getting groomed by a sexual predator. Parents should be aware that their kids are far more advanced in technology than they are and so they should monitor on which websites their kids surf as we all know the internet is full of dangerous people. This movie is about that, a good modern story with a good cast. I was surprised the director was David Schwimmer, as I've never been a big fan of him as an actor. I guess directing suits him better. Trust is a B-movie but not a bad one. And certainly good to enlighten some clueless parents about the danger of chatrooms and so on.

Watching this movie, I was expecting so much more; unsatisfying ending, with no resolution to the matter and dum small twist at the end credits. It had its moments (very few) but just left me wanting a proper result from the touchy matter at hand
