I'm in this movie, with a small role, so I pretty much expected it to be rubbish. Since I naturally have blonde hair and blue eyes (note, viking ancestry) but they died my hair and beard dark brown, and stuck a wig on me. I noted a comment about the bad wigs, yes, I agree. However, having just watched it I was pretty surprised to see that it wasn't the most horrific film I've ever seen. There are plenty of 3 star films on IMDb that are far, far worse. At least it has a storyline that goes from beginning to end (it may be about as predictable as an episode of Bob the Builder, but at least it's there), and a few pretty nasty deaths. The sets and stuff looked OK, but the Compositing was generally crap (hence the sets look like polystyrene quite often because the shoddy post-production guys didn't do their job very well). I wasn't a fan of the colour grade in any way. Yes, the hell hound was woeful. It looked basically half finished, and I laughed hard once it came on screen. BUT - all that aside, I watched it to the end and it entertained me, which I think is all it ever set out to do. Lets face it, is anybody going to sit and watch a film that looks like this expecting high art and deep meaningful dialogue? Did you watch Conan the Barbarian for the plot? Has any Vin Diesel/Steven Segal/Jason Statham movie had any redeeming features other than some occasionally good violence?
Dear reviews, Is a great movie since the movie is created by our local KRU Studios. But with those slow story and full pack of CGI which certain people cant accept the fact that our Malaysian director still need to keep it up with the latest technology of movie and entertainment. I may don't know anything about arts and media but what i can say is how the team rendering the movie is totally unacceptable. What i like with the movies is the fighting scene, totally par with those international movies out there and i cant believe how come the rate of this movies is 7.0+ something? Fast and Furious 6 also score the same amount with more action pack and punch line of the stories. Anyway, i hope more director from Malaysia dare to produce more movie for International markets. Well done to Yusri Abd Halim and KRU Studios for the VIKINGDOM.
bad comments on IMDb its easy to write, so this one is harder to do: This film served as great entertainment with its colorful cast and numerous plot twists. There were a few times when the movie felt a bit drawn out, but the gorgeous action scenes and impressive dialog really held the audience's attention and kept them on the edge of their seats. However, the time line was a bit unclear at times. For a number of scenes, it was hard to tell whether it had been days or months or years that had passed since the last time a given character had been on screen. Despite the films minor shortcomings, Vikingdom is exciting, creative, and dark—and well worth a few hours of your time. now that how you write a Movie Review. grow up kids
this best malaysia movie has ever been made in term of CGI really good improve a lot from Merong Mahawangsa just the hellhound look like puppet Bad costume and hairwig..costume not dirty.. Action sequence fighting better than KL Gangster..doesn't look like local movies.. Script n dialog..not really good.. Anyway thumbs up to KRU..malaysia need a lot international movie..fuckup all those haters..KRU always making great movie n fresh idea just in term of budget n final production not up to standard..keep it up
