Good movie!
I really can't understand how this movie doesn't rate 10/10. Sure, it is sometimes a little far-fetched but it doesn't claim to be a true account! It's a ripper of a family story - great for kids and adults to watch together. Funny, with the mandatory moral lesson wrapped in a whole lot of love. A bit of a tear jerker which caught me off-guard, in the best possible way. It would be really hard not to fall in love with the lead characters in this movie. All the characters were well-developed and most of the acting was excellent. Great cinematography - and beautiful Australian scenery. Well done to all involved in this production.
Was one of the very few childrens movies I watched with the family over easter because you know when you can't watch bluey? Put this on and we were laughing, crying and cheering on the characters in the span of a few minutes, and it was such an inspiring story that I feel the movie could've been a little bit longer and told just a little bit more. How good was it seeing Pia Miranda and Jess Mauboy in something different? The two were funny, and well meaning. Percy? Was such a little larrikin taking his lessons learned to everywhere he went. Recommend watching this with family and friends, grab some popcorn and watch!
So wonderful to see an Australian movie which tells a great story, tackles multiple issues including bullying without being too heavy, and manages to touch your heart in all the right ways. The perfect blend of real issues and fun. Congratulations to all the young stars who do a magnificent job carrying the story. I look forward to seeing more from these talented kids. One of my favourite aspects was the genuine bond that radiated from the very beginning between Percy Boy and his Grandfather. Definitely added a richness and purity. I also loved all the quirk scenes with Aunty Prue and how the writer handled this. Well done to Writer Boyd Quakawoot and Director, Tabitha Glynn-Maloney. Beautifully done! Thoroughly good watch that I would definitely recommend.
Actually really enjoyed watching this over Easter, as I had seen the ads for it on TV and thought it was just going to be about a kid who loves running and that was it. It was so much more and it was a great movie, not to long not to short, the characters clicked really well and the story was actually pretty decent. We need more storytelling like this with humour and heart because that is what we all need in our lives adults and kids alike. Was great to see Jess Mauboy again and she put in a great performance and so did the actors who played the teachers, the dude who played Grandpa was another highlight. Great to watch with the family they will love this!
This was so much fun. We quite literally laughed, cried & cheered throughout. A beautiful little slice of Aussie life captured in a heartfelt and FUNNY story. Daisy is a star and I want her to be my friend. Unlike some family films, the grown ups in our house enjoyed it as much (if not more) than the kids. Even our teen that has a tiny attention span was sucked in. It really pulled on the heart strings without being soppy or sentimental. So much fun. I thought Jess Mauboy was just gorgeous and the child actors, CHARMING! Already hoping for a wind catcher II. Will watch this one again and again!
