That movie is about "relationship" between some random people or group of friends ?...there is some OK performance some Ok quality production .. so its not bad. movie gives the Point, that there is hope after no faith of getting love. and then there is hope of reconcile after the betrayal . its in the movie. but the reality is different from it. as more younger generation watch these movies, it BRAINWASH their fragile mind. thats it ok if its Adultery because its a MISTAKE. its ok to keep dating / intimate on random people to find a True love?....so yeh , thats happening to this generation.

X/Y offers moody disjointed vignettes that lacks narrative impetus. It is directed, written and stars Ryan Piers Williams. He plays Mark whose marriage with Silvia (his real life spouse America Ferrera) unravels when she confesses to an affair. Mark leaves to stay with a British friend Jake who is a model/photographer/artist. Jake is popular with women but also full of self loathing. Meanwhile Silvia confides with her sister Jen about the break up. Only to get into an argument over Jen's own issues such as her one night stands with strangers. X/Y is meant to be a flick through of the lives of young people in metropolitan New York. It is morose and uninvolving. There is casual sex and the characters are unlikeable. Silvia has an affair with a work colleague who tells Silvia that no one likes working with her. I am sure the film was a labour of love for Williams. After all Mark is a filmmaker whose latest script attracts the attention of a major studio. His agent tells him that he just needs to make a few alterations if he wants an audience of more than five hipsters. It seems X/Y never managed to widen its audience.

I need to admit that while I will watch movies on occasion that have low IMDB scores mainly because I have found some great gems that have stuck with me through life I watch this movie even more because of the cast. No issues with the cinematography or pacing of the movie but the storyline is basically and old one but in this case I guess the target audience is the younger generation. So much is also being thrown into the main story I get the impression the one scene with the most interesting or charismatic character says it all when he is toss paint on a canvas in what appears to be an impromptu fashion. It might help to beef up the storyline but something was still missing between the two main leads. They had more chemistry going on with the other actors than they did themselves.

Yea, guess this contains spoilers... but the film does the best job of accomplishing that all on its' own. It starts off they're together for six years, and are both obviously unhappy, or bored, or whatever. She tells him that she can't talk to him because he won't listen. So with that justification she informs him she has previously had sex with a co-worker. He walks out on her over this revelation. Then there are a couple other relationship story lines in the middle of the film, just filling up screen-time.. none (but one) of which we care much at all about. Towards the end of the movie once again she hooks up with that same co-worker (rocks-off only). Then several minutes later in the film, she goes home and unexpectedly runs into the ex, and not long after they decide they are going to 'give it another chance,' because they really 'love' each other. Oh to be the fly on the wall once those latest hook up announcements see daylight. Obviously this storyline made some semblance of sense to somebody.. but to a majority of the rest of us we really are not made enough to actually care.

I saw this movie at the Marfa Film Festival 2014 and really liked it. It depicts several characters reeling through life with little consideration. They are caught up with their immediate desires, mostly the desire to get away from themselves. The thing that I found moving was the subtle and not so subtle ways in which several of them are able to glimpse how they've been living and begin to take the first small steps towards a different life. I felt that I recognized these characters from earlier stages of my own life, not in their specific behaviors, but in their compulsion to fill every moment of their lives with activity, meaningful or not.
