One of the modern horror talks about witchcraft and the Inquisition and travel through time From my point of view it was not bad but was acceptable Regardless of the misunderstood and bad start, it has gradually risen to the peak point I think it is a very ordinary and acceptable film
I wanted this to be good but it just didn't ever make the mark. This is low budget and you can tell it. The filming isn't polished, the acting is off and the effects are lacking. The story is about a woman who gets trapped in a day that repeats itself. She wakes up, goes through the day and by the end of the day she's been murdered. It got old watching the same thing happening without really making any progress in the film. This just didn't work for me at all.
This is a really interesting little movie. Inside this film there are really citation quotes to classic Italian horror films. and I really like this. it's a passionate film. Video editing works very well and the film runs very fast. Emma's beautiful ruol actress is very good and very credible throughout the film. I recommend this movie.
I saw the DVD version of this movie and I have to say that I was really impressed. It is surely a low budget film with both positives and negatives. What I really loved is the old time atmosphere that permeates the entire movie. It is something that reminded me the classic and glorious Italian era of the horror movies. A little bit of Suspiria and a little bit of Antropophagus. What it really works it's the mixture of old elements and new setting. I also liked the old school special effects: brutal and functional. Hope to see something new by Rosson maybe with an higher budget.
If you watched "Happy Death Day", then is useless to watch this one. It's exactly the same movie, with different actors and different ways of death. Why would someone make an identical movie? I just lost my time watching this.
The premise is that i'm a big fan of Italian independent horror flicks - when I found out about this movie, and did my research, I had to add it to my borderline maniacal italian horror collection! This said, completely forget about the hyper-expensive Hollywood features. This is an old school product that pays due homage to some some of the most influential Italian horror filmography of the 70s-80s. It is literally a no-budget film, shot in no-time, built to throw you into the Lombard town and countryside of Voghera, and, once your in it, desperately mess with your imagination! Solid editing and soundtracks, and good rhythm, contribute to a thrilling and entertaining niche filmmaking b-movie experience. Don't know what it is, but I like director Rosson's choices and ideas for movies (this is his second feature). These guys deserve a bigger budget.
The idea of this film is that of the repeating day. Already seen so many times in other films. But the thing that amazed me the most was the story. The story is very coll and it is not trivial at all. I was very impressed when I read the budget they used for this film. There are much more expensive films that do not tell anything. This film has much to tell.
In my life I have seen so many independent films but this "Shanda's River" is really an incredible film. Perhaps one of the best low budget movies I've ever seen. I do not want to make spoilers. The story works very well. the beginning seems a bit slow, but after the first deaths in the film takes a good rhythm. The actress in the role of Emma is very credible, and works well for the whole movie. If you love independent horror movies, I recommend this film.
I saw this film at the Cartoomics in Milan. Very interesting horror film. it's a low budget movie and it shows, but the plot is really interesting. The story keeps you attached to the screen for 90 minutes. Also thanks to a good editing. The music is very good and creates a very beautiful atmosphere. A good movie for those looking for a different Horror movie.
